We had a jolly good time at our team holiday celebration! 🎄 During the party, the team prepared our holiday cards to mail, had a holiday sweater contest, opened holiday poppers, played games, did a gift exchange, and enjoyed a wonderful meal together. We always love having fun parties, enjoying holidays together and building deeper connections with each other! ❤️

Meet Linda, who has been supporting our team by sharing the benefits of yoga for our employee wellness initiative! She says that her favorite part of working with our team is "Their openness to trying something new! Now that we are practicing yoga on a regular basis, it has been so much fun and very rewarding for me to get to know the team members. They are FUN and very dedicated to what they are doing." Just like our mission is to provide jobs for the underserved community of adults with disabilities, Linda is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with them, too. And she says that her puppies love our treats! Meet Coach Nicole, a health and wellness coach and proud supporter of the Pawfectly Delicious team! Nicole has been teaching health and wellness topics to our team as part of our Employee Wellness Initiative, including adaptable workouts that anyone can participate in! Nicole said that she wanted to get involved with our organization because "I saw the organization's passion for not only providing disabled adults the opportunity for meaningful work but also for providing them with life-enriching opportunities. My favorite part of working with the team so far has been the fun we have when we meet and seeing some of their fitness and health habits already changing for the better!" Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities, but to us, it is more than a day. It is a movement to give disabled adults a chance to contribute to the world in a meaningful way.  Did you know that a person with a disability is about TWICE as likely to be unemployed, compared to those without a disability?  We're doing our part in our community by creating a workplace where anyone can thrive. They get to come to work, do a job that contributes to society, and earn money of their own. It almost sounds silly, doesn't it? Because to most of us, the idea of a job is a given, but so many of our disabled neighbors just aren't given the same chance to work. Adults with disabilities deserve better. Check out this community outing we recently took to Gunston Hall, home of George Mason! This outing was an opportunity for our team to see and experience a piece of history not far from where they live, to engage in discussion about history, and to enjoy the beautiful setting along the Potomac River. During the visit, we personally delivered an order of treats that will be sold in the gift shop after the property generously donated a basket for our Paws and Pours Auction. Finally, we enjoyed a nutritious lunch as part of our wellness initiative. The meal included sandwiches, fruit salad, and a veggie tray, and we used an "eat the rainbow" worksheet to discuss making healthy eating choices. This outing was made possible from grants received from the John J. Pohanka Family Foundation and the Joey Pizzano Memorial Foundation. We are grateful to them, and to Gunston Hall, for supporting our mission and making this wonderful day a success! #wellnessday #supportnonprofits #disabilityinclusion
