Today is International Wheelchair Day! 🧑🦼 This day is an opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness about the invaluable role that wheelchairs play in the lives of so many people around the world. We are grateful that people like Ben and Bryan have mobility, independence, and freedom because of wheelchairs. Wheelchairs not only provide a means of transportation but also empower users to engage more fully in everyday activities and participate actively in society. Let's always remember to be respectful in public spaces by ensuring ramps, elevators, and accessible parking spots are available and clear. We encourage workplaces to provide wheelchair-accessible desks, meeting rooms, and work spaces. #wheelchairaccessible #accessibilitymatters #inclusivitymatters

When we asked Claire what she wanted people to know about the disabled community, she said, "Disabled people should get the same amount of respect as everybody else." Plain and simple, we couldn't agree more. 🙌 #pawfectlydeliciousdog #disabilityawareness #peoplewithdisabilities

Lizzy is the newest member of the Pawfectly Delicious Dog Treats team! She has been working with us for several weeks now, so it's time we made an introduction! Lizzy is a graduate of Falls Church High School and Pulley Career Center, and she now brings her passion for organization and helping others to her role at Pawfectly Delicious. In her spare time, Lizzy enjoys immersing herself in music, watching a variety of sporting events, playing video games, and cheering on all things Minnesota—especially the Vikings. A true dog lover, Lizzy has a special place in her heart for Corgis and her brother's dog, Mercury. She lives with her parents, her brother David, and her Great Aunt Gladys. Join us in welcoming Lizzy to the baking team in the comments! #pawfectlydelicious #disabilityemployment #alexandriavirginia

As part of our Employee Wellness Initiative, our team recently had a conversation about confidence and self-empowerment on the job. 🙌 We watched a segment from CBS News’ “On the Road” series that featured a young teen who was born without legs and despite challenges, tried out for, made, and excelled on his middle school’s basketball team! After the segment, we talked about the importance of building self-confidence and how we can support each other with encouragement. We all went around the room and described a time when we were proud of ourselves for overcoming a challenge, like learning a new skill at work, overcoming a personal or physical health challenge, or starting a new job. By purchasing Pawfectly Delicious Dog Treats or making a donation, you're supporting our mission to offer enrichment activities such as wellness, nutrition, and music. We hope to enrich the lives of our team members, serve as a role model for other organizations, and strengthen our ties with the community! https://lnkd.in/ejwv7XhJ #workplaceinclusion #disabilityemployment #inclusionmatters

💡New report from the Department of Education reveals significant inequities for students with IEPs and 504 plans. Among the findings: ➡️ Higher rates of suspension and expulsion for students with disabilities. ➡️ Disproportionate lack of access to advanced coursework and extracurricular activities. ➡️ Significant racial disparities in the treatment and support of students with IEPs and 504 plans. These findings remind us of the urgent need to address barriers for people with disabilities and advocate for inclusion. Every student deserves the chance to thrive! https://lnkd.in/gUavfkCp #InclusiveEducation #SpecialEducation #EquityInSchools
