PEAC members connected with Horton professionals over hors d'oeuvres and drinks while learning about the range of M&A insurance products that Horton offers for private equity funds. Last week, CAC Specialty hosted an insurance teach-in for members of the Private Equity Association of Chicago, providing valuable insights into managing transactional risk. The training featured real-world examples of representation & warranties insurance (RWI), tax insurance and contingent risk insurance, equipping PEAC members with actionable strategies for mitigating deal risks. As a leading specialty insurance broker and advisor, CAC Specialty delivers tailored solutions across the insurance and capital markets landscape. With a strong focus on supporting lower and middle-market private equity firms, CAC has rapidly grown to over 500 employees in just five years. Today, CAC places the fourth-largest volume of RWI premium annually and continues to redefine excellence in serving the private equity sponsor community. Thank you to Michael B. We also provide resources for aspiring professionals seeking roles with Chicago’s leading private equity firms. The Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management hosted a virtual information session this week for the Private Equity Association of Chicago. Members learned about Kellogg’s Advanced Private Equity Experience (APEX) program, a tailored and rigorous finance curriculum for a selective cohort of MBA candidates who are coming into Kellogg with prior private equity experience and want to return to the field of private equity post-MBA. The APEX program blends a focus across finance, analytics and social intelligence to equip graduates with key leadership, negotiation, sales and collaboration skills to set them up for success in their private equity careers. Thank you to Jennifer Hayes (Senior Associate Director), Erik Brown (Senior Director of Private Equity) and Andrew Irvine (current Kellogg MBA candidate) for taking time out of your schedules to connect with PEAC and answer our questions! We look forward to hosting Kellogg, alongside our other partner schools, at our annual PEAC MBA Forum this spring.

The University of Chicago Booth School of Business hosted a virtual information session last week for the Private Equity Association of Chicago. Members learned about the full-time MBA program at Booth and the many resources it provides to support students who are pursuing private equity careers. We look forward to hosting Booth, alongside our other partner schools, at the annual spring PEAC MBA Forum for our members to continue exploring MBA opportunities.   Thank you to Mary Beth Lantzy for taking the time to answer all of our questions!

The Private Equity Association of Chicago hosted a lively social event last week at the Fioretta Penthouse. PEAC members enjoyed panoramic views of the Chicago skyline while fostering connections with fellow private equity professionals. The Private Equity Association of Chicago held our annual Analyst Networking Forum last week at the University Club of Chicago. We had a very successful turnout, with a record number of 150+ attendees who networked with our member firms represented at the event. For those who were unable to attend, our PEAC Resume Book will be collecting submissions until this Thursday, 10/17 – it will be distributed to each of our 75+ member firms shortly thereafter.
