Yesterday, in partnership with our good friends at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, we celebrated the unveiling of a 12-panel mural at the Blue Mountain Service Plaza. Created by Shippensburg Area High School art students, this is the 17th and final original artwork created for #ArtSparks, a PCA and PTC partnership that brings student-created art to service plazas across the PA Turnpike's 565-mile system. . Three cheers to the student artists, our project partners, Shippensburg Area High School administrators and educators, and resident teaching artist, Katie Trainer, who did an amazing job leading the students from concept through creation!

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves! Excited to be a partner on this important work 💗
Tonight. Was. Awesome. We dedicated a sculpture that the Chamber commissioned for our trailhead AND it was announced that Kane received the Creative Communitues Initiative grant from Pennsylvania Council on the Arts 🤩 It’s a 4 year, $25,000/year grant for arts in our community👏👏👏 I’m so proud of our town for embracing that arts and economic development can go together. And I’m super pumped for the next 4 years! Full heart tonight❤️ Pic of PA Council on the Arts staff Karl Blischke and Sarah Merritt, artists Jody and Sara Aiello, and me taking a moment during the community party after the sculpture dedication. 😁 #art #communitydevelopment #economicdevelopment #grant #kanepa #rural #smalltown #revitalization
