We believe in harnessing the power of data to inform investment research. That's why we're excited to sponsor the first-ever Data-Driven VC Hackathon in Paris on January 15 and 16! Thanks to Abel Samot and our friends at Red River West for hosting the event--we're honored to participate and can't wait to see what each team builds. ICYMI, our Head of Investment Research, Sean Saint, is onsite and available to brainstorm project ideas, discuss best practices for PDL data, and answer any technical questions. PLUS, we heard a rumor that Sean's willing to buy coffee & Redbull for anyone coding 💻. You can learn more about this event by visiting: https://lu.ma/v6gmtjf0.

What a year! 🎉 People Data Labs wrapped up our best year ever, breaking records left and right: revenue, growth, efficiency—you name it. Every team played a critical role in this milestone, from smashing our all-time annual revenue record to achieving profitability and maintaining it all year. 2024 set a new bar, and 2025 is looking even brighter. Let’s go! 💥
For a minute there it really looked like we were gonna break our all time annual new revenue record… AND WE DID!! Last week People Data Labs officially closed our best year in company history. We broke the following records: - Largest Q2 - Largest H1 - Largest Q4 - Largest year - Most new logos (by a lot!) - Most upsells Our revenue teams had a stellar year: - Three quarters in a row above 100%, with 149% in Q4 - Highest total number (and percentage) of sellers above $1M for the year - Three sellers had top ten all time best annual performances - Our time to first $1M ARR record was broken by a 2024 hire (prev set by a 2023 hire) - Highest number of early renewals and multi-year contracts - We did this with almost half of our revenue team being hired in 2023 and 2024 - We did this with a smaller revenue department than the years we outperformed Our company as a whole had an exceptionally efficient year: - We achieved profitability at the start of the year - We officially maintained profitability for the entire year - We currently have our best employee to revenue ratio in company history And while doing all of that we executed a CEO change mid-year. Any one of those areas on their own would be a tall order, but the level of difficulty necessary to achieve all of that in the same year has me incredibly proud of our team right now. Sometimes it can be hard to conceptualize a multi-year vision until it fully plays out. Focusing on data quality, customer feedback, and building a scalable revenue foundation has begun to really pay off and it took every member of our team to do it. Some things we are looking forward to in 2025: - Genuinely measurable and scalable customer onboarding - Partnering with our enterprise customers to build some really cool things with data - Launching some very exciting new things… None of this would be possible without our exceptional product and engineering teams, operational support, and revenue department. Thank you to our many customers, investors, Craft Ventures' guidance, and to everyone at PDL who made this a record breaking year. I cannot imagine a better way to usher in Ben Eisenberg's tenure as our CEO. Now to smash the records we just set! 🔥

💡 Use Case Spotlight 🔍 Data quality is mission-critical in journalism. But how do you ensure the accuracy and freshness of professional information when publishing news and articles at scale? A leading business publication faced this challenge: They needed a solution that could accurately identify individuals mentioned in their articles and ensure their professional details were correct. To tackle this, they brought in a third-party evaluator — a solutions engineer from the tech space — to assess potential tools for enhancing data quality and matching accuracy. The result? By implementing a streamlined flat file solution, the publication achieved: ✅ Improved data quality ✅ Accurate person-to-information matching ✅ Greater confidence in their content's credibility 💡 Sometimes it's not just about having data, but having the right data — fresh, accurate, and reliable. 📰🔗 #DataQuality #SolutionsEngineering #JournalismTech #DataFreshness #BusinessSuccess

🧠 People Data Labs is looking for a Full-Stack Engineering Manager ready to go beyond being a small part of a big machine. Here’s what makes working with us unique: - Competitive compensation - A chance to scale a team and make a real impact - The thrill of working in Data-as-a-Service If you’re ready to lead a team of some super cool humans who value autonomy and ownership, apply here: https://lnkd.in/e2NNtU3z . #Hiring #FullStackEngineeringManager #DataAsAService
Hiring at a smaller company can be an incredible amount of fun…and also very challenging. We’ve been hiring for a Full Stack Engineering Manager for a bit now and we keep losing out to larger companies. We could look at this positively and negatively. The positive: We are consistently in the mix with much larger companies. The negative: We are consistently losing out to scaled companies, and therefore are likely not talking to our ideal candidate profile. The good news, our compensation packages are on par with these larger companies, we just can’t offer things like managing multiple teams, or a giant brand presence…yet! So we could really use some help here. We have a great role for someone looking to be less of an anonymous entity at a larger company, someone excited to scale out a team, and someone who is excited by the immense open space data as a service still has. Plus, you get to work with some excellent technical leaders like Sadaf H. Minapara, Alex Bahouth, Tim Hutchinson, Alex Bynum, and many others! Tag people, forward this, like, share, help an EM find their next best role and help People Data Labs add another excellent person to the team! EDIT: Since my inbox has been flooded with messages from recruiters/agencies. This post was just about our open engineering manager role, we have our own recruiters and fill 99% of our roles very quickly. 💁♂️ Job link in the comments!
