This was a fun project at the TWG SECURITY main office. We have been running on a cable mobile for many years, and it was time for an upgrade. We upgraded to a 1GB fiber connection from our partners at Service Electric Cable TV, Inc. and #PTD. We added a #starlink plus Peplink LR Dome with dual 5G T-Mobile connections, and all bonded together via #speedfussion on our Peplink SDX PRO router. I’m passionate about exploring and working with cutting-edge technologies like #5G, #Starlink, and #Peplink to solve unique connectivity challenges. Got an amazing tour of #TPriority #tmobile #emergencyresponse vehicle. This thing has all of the connections but it was really cool to see the #Peplink MBXs providing some critical connectivity. I've been told Peplink is used when the mission needs to be a success. To see T-Mobile using Peplink for the most critical of missions is an amazing testament to this. An hour into the opening reception, I thought to myself, this event (and my VIP ticket) have already paid for themselves and the conference hasn’t even started. I did a double take at my own thought - I was attending an event, for which I bought a premium ticket, and I was blown away by the value I got literally before the event even officially began. And it was win after win - every day, I was like, wow, this is an experience that I cannot get anywhere else, that was worth traveling for, and that I want to do again. As an #EventProf - that’s the holy grail, isn’t it? Blowing the socks off your attendees? (don’t worry there was a pair of socks in the swag bag, so I wasn’t walking around sockless). The event was the Peplink Tech Summit - Hosted by West Networks. What made this event so great? It was not a “fancy” event. It was a basic all-breakout show, bare-bones, and DIY. It definitely wasn’t the AV (Peter, call me we need to have a talk about your AV for next year) It wasn’t the wow of the opening sizzle reel (though there were great videos by Matt West). It was two things - the people, and the content. The event was co-sponsored by competing Peplink Distributors and a mobile operator, and attended by a broad mix of Peplink superusers, dealers, and engineers. This was not your average IT conference. Every single person in the room had a unique use case for this hardware, and some truly wild applications and case studies to share. From the new users, to the industry veterans, every person had a story about why they use this product, and they ranged from mission critical life safety, to marine (civilian and government), to health care, to remote mining, to rural internet, to RV’s to live streaming. And everyone was open to sharing at least a part of what they do and how they do it. From the opening reception to the dinners and bar conversations I got to absorb intimate details about the inner workings of fire and EMS radio repeaters in Australia, to mesh networked smart mining equipment, to the underlying tech and history of 5G cell service in the US. Every conversation was fascinating, unlocking a unique nugget of knowledge. And the content was a mix of case studies from partners all over the world showing off an under the hood look at some of the most impressive use cases of Peplink technology, along with a DEEEEEP dive into the engineering and configuration of these systems, with certification trainings for Sales, Power Users, and Engineers. And that swag I mentioned earlier? All super high quality, stuff I will use / wear proudly for a long time. As a Peplink User and Partner, it was an invaluable experience. As an EventProf, it was an amazing case study in what wins at events. You don’t need gimmicks - you need to get a bunch of really smart people in the same room and help them start the conversations that will advance their careers. I've been working with my good friends at Peplink Giedrius Motiejunas and Keith Chau and we might have the first carton to a partner on us soil! excited about all the things we can do with this amazing enclosure. we have 5 in DFW and also shipped out one for an immediate install in FL and one install in North Carolina. This is the Peplink antenna enclosure, It simplifies the install and gives a maximum Gain: Up to 7.4dB! I'll do a full test and additional updates tomorrow.
