And what would you do with the uterus and ovaries? This month the case in point was a 1️⃣ 7️⃣ -year old girl with a low grade borderline serous tumor with few foci of microinvasion in the right ovarian tumour and extensive non-invasive implants in the rest of the peritoneal cavity. ⁉️ Is ovarian cystectomy an option for such patients? ⁉️ Should the uterus be preserved even if there is gross disease on the surface? ⁉️ What if the patient denies consent for hysterectomy and oophorectomy? Should the surgery still performed? ⁉️ What is the role of systemic chemotherapy and of HIPEC? ⁉️ What is the best way to manage recurrent disease? PRODIGE-7 trial results have led to a reduction in the use of HIPEC with Oxaliplatin in ColoRectal Peritoneal Metastases (CRPM). Our study evaluates outcomes for CRPM patients undergoing CRS+HIPEC with Oxaliplatin (Ox) 368mg/m2 (30 min), versus Mitomycin C (MMC) 35mg/m2 (90min). Highlights are: 1. Oxaliplatin HIPEC has a significant benefit on peritoneal recurrence-free survival. 2. There is a trend to better overall survival with Oxaliplatin HIPEC in some patients.
