The PERT Consortium

Hospitals and Health Care

We are a network of multidisciplinary pulmonary embolism response teams working to improve the care of patients with PE

About us

The Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) Consortium was developed after the initial efforts of a team of physicians at Massachusetts General Hospital. The PERT Consortium® intends to guide and influence pulmonary embolism (PE) care and research in institutions across the U.S. and will be the driving force behind increased survival rates and the future of PE treatment. It is the intention of the Consortium to increase awareness of treatment options available to patients with PE, to reduce its incidence worldwide, to improve health outcomes, and to positively influence the impact of this terrible disease. The National PERT Consortium® is a national alliance of like-minded Pulmonary Embolism Response Teams dedicated to improving care and outcomes for patients with PE. The collaborative work of the National PERT Consortium® will reduce incidence of PE, improve treatment algorithms, save lives, and reduce the burden of this disease in our patients, our communities, and society overall.
