The live illustration process captivated attendees last year at Oncology Pharmacists Connect! Faculty and participants alike told us how intriguing it was to see each discussion at OPC visualized in real-time. We're excited to bring this popular educational element back to OPC 2025 this June! Instead of traditional artwork, I am adding some art to my walls that contains the latest emerging treatment recommendations from American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and American Society of Hematology. Now, conversations with our residents, administrators, and providers can be surrounded by the cutting edge science of oncology care. A special thank you to Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™ (PTCE) for helping bring this vision to life! I am looking forward to bringing even more updated content this June at Oncology Pharmacists Connect. For those of us who live and breathe treatment pathways and formulary design, what better way to showcase our passion. Pharmacy Times reposted this
It is time we take the stigma away from proper and open discussions with women in perimenopause and menopause. Moreover, it is long overdue. Women have tried tackling this issue on their own without much care from our healthcare system. Most women that I’ve discussed this issue with have also bemoaned the lack of openness from grandmothers, mothers, etc… mainly because they were left in the dark. It was a game of trial and errors. Many still suffer in silence. Whenever it is discussed in a doctor’s office, many have also expressed frustration with the lack of care offered (if any was offered at all). Most women are dismissed or even told that it’s a normal biological function without any insight or direct patient care. This is unacceptable, and it is great to hear that Pharmacy Times has taken an interest. Much appreciated, and again, long overdue. There ARE pharmacists on the forefront of this, and we’ve worked alongside many women to address these issues for years now. #HealthEducator #MedicalWriter #Pharmacist #Perimenopause #Menopause #WomensHealth #Advocacy
I had a wonderful time discussing menopause (one of my favorite topics!) with a truly fantastic group of health care professionals and advocates, Lisa Larkin MD FACP MSCP, Rebecca Chapin, PharmD, BCACP, Sally Rafie, PharmD, BCPS, APh, FCCP, FCPhA, and Brooke Griffin (our amazing moderator). Check out the video series, "Pharmacists’ Role in Women’s Health: Individualized Strategies for Menopause Management." Thank you to Pharmacy Times for the fantastic opportunity and for promoting menopause care! Check out the videos here: https://lnkd.in/gbcAnHvG
