About us
Our mission is to improve the quality of life in our community by achieving the goals of public health: prevention, promotion and protection. Our agency protects the air, food, drinking water, and many everyday aspects of a healthy Montgomery County. Improving and maintaining public health requires an ongoing community-wide effort with schools, hospitals, community organizations, and neighborhood groups to help people make healthier choices in their everyday lives. We want people to realize that the lifestyles they choose have an impact on their overall personal health. Exercise, diet, the amount of sleep we get, and how we take care of our bodies makes a difference in the long run. Public Health services are far ranging and comprehensive. We continually evaluate the changing needs of our community and implement new strategies to meet those needs. Call (937) 225-5700 or visit PHDMC.org to find out more about our programs and resources.

Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery congratulates Jeniece Lyons, Epidemiologist and Andrew Evans, Environmental Health Supervisor as they prepare to graduate from Wright State University’s Master of Public Health Program on December 13. Andrew began his MPH course of study in the fall of 2022 with a concentration on Health Promotion and Education. WSU students completing the health promotion and education concentration are trained to use social and behavioral science to develop and evaluate interventions that promote health and prevent disease. As part of his learning, he was able to earn a certificate in Public Health Leadership and a Community Health Education Specialist credential. Jeniece also began her MPH course of study at Wright State in 2022 with a concentration on Population Health, and has earned a certificate in Public Health Leadership and Epidemiology. Epidemiology is the study of the distribution and causes of disease in identified groups of people.
