Getting ready to head to Salt Lake City for the biannual OSG meeting where, in addition to our world beating range of high-speed cameras, Photron will be showing the innovative but simple automated 6D motion analysis system, the 6D-Marker. Requiring only one marker and a single camera, be it high-speed, high-resolution or whatever, you can easily obtain X, Y, Z, roll, pitch and yaw data. The 6D-Marker greatly simplifies the usually complex calibration process and can be performed live or on previously recorded data.

What is a 6D-Marker? The 6-D Marker is a simple motion capture system that can track and measure 3D image data with six degrees of freedom (X, Y, Z, Roll, Pitch, and Yaw) using only one camera and one 6D-Marker. It's compact structure allows users to measure various automotive tests, including engine vibration and vehicle impacts, which are difficult to analyze with a standard motion capture system. The latest VR pancake optics enable much smaller lightweight headsets, but present a wholly new set of challenges. That is why we have developed the VRG-100 pancake optical QC and measurement system. Feel free to ping' me to learn more.

New Challenges Require New Solutions: That was our thinking when we developed our VRG-100 optical QC system for the latest pancake optics for VR headsets. With its unique variable polarization illumination, among its many features, the VRG-100 enables you to : 1. Confirm the lowest possible retardation distribution in injection molded optics. 2. Evaluate the degree of circular polarization (ellipticity) to confirm the overall polarization performance. 3. Measure S3 values in all three color wavelengths. 4. Confirm the relative angle between the transmission axis of the polarizer and retardation axis of the QWP is as close to 45˚ as possible. To learn more, please contact Photron or Photonic Lattice, Inc.
