This innovative, tuition-free, year-round academic enrichment program is making a lasting impact in Philadelphia. With a dual mission, Breakthrough serves over 175 students from public, charter, and parochial schools, while also providing 45 college students each year with training and stipends to launch careers in education. 🏅 Did You Know? David Pincus is inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame! A proud graduate of Central High School and Penn State University, David’s athletic achievements were truly extraordinary. He held the Penn State discus record for many years and competed in the 1948 Olympic track and field trials. Not stopping there, he went on to compete in the 1952 National Amateur Golf Tournament. But David’s story is about more than athleticism—it's about heart. His passion for giving back shaped countless lives. Whether serving as the track and field chair for the U.S. Maccabiah team or working with organizations like the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, CARE, and Maccabi USA, David dedicated his life to making the world a better place. His efforts earned him numerous honors, including the Penn State Distinguished Alumni Award and the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award. These accolades highlight the far-reaching impact of his contributions, both on and off the field. David’s impact is a testament to the power of sport, community, and giving back.
