Pine Island Redfish, a land-based recirculating aquaculture (RAS) operation in Florida, is gearing up for a major milestone: its first commercial harvest of red drum in a few weeks at its temporary facility at Mote Aquaculture Park in Sarasota. For CEO Megan Sorby, this is an exciting step forward for sustainable aquaculture in the region: "We are thrilled to bring our fish to market as the first production from Pine Island Redfish — the first RAS-raised red drum produced right here in Southwest Florida."
