How can we “queer” La Rinascente? 🏢 This was the question we gave the participants of the Queering Innovation workshop in Milano this week. 🇮🇹 During this workshop, hosted by the amazing team at Giga Design Studio, we first discussed the basics of Queer Theory and the history and definition of queerness. We then explored how you can apply a queer perspective to your design and innovation practises in order to increase the impact of your ideas. The participants tried out their learnings in a mini-workshop that asked them to redesign the iconic department store La Rinascente through a queer lens. Needless to say, the department store of the future will look a lot different. 🔮 Looking forward to seeing how the participants will implement the theory in their own processes 🏄♀️
About us
Once upon a time, in a bustling little town, a group of builders tried to create a wonderful city. They had all the tools—saws, drills, and hammers—But there was a problem—each builder wanted to built only for themselves. One made a skinny tall tower where only he could fit in, another made a bridge to cross alone. The town stayed broken, even with so many tools. One day, a bright and curious traveler named Anna arrived, carrying a magical hammer. "Let’s play a game," Anna said. The builders huddled around as she taught them how to listen the other people in the town, share their ideas, combine their dreams, and turn arguments into creative plans. Soon, the builders weren’t just making towers and bridges—they were creating parks where children could play, streets that sang with music, and houses that felt like hugs. And so they lived happily ever after, in a town build for - and by - everyone. Want te be like Anna? Find PINKHAMMER here--> www.pinkhammer.space
