We have been quiet over here.... yes, there were the Holidays and the undeniable Turkey coma, then we were busy leading this very awesome, most amazing and insightful 8 week Change Insight cohort.... But truth be told, we were just not very inspired. Conversations around Change Management seem to repeat themselves and we didn't want to be "just more noise" on LinkedIn. But once we were able to name our lack of inspiration, the juices started flowing again.... So here is a question for you: What long-held belief have you changed your mind about recently? There is no silver bullet to change fatigue. It's a hot topic though as business changes and transformations are heating up. We are big believers of "the one thing", as in the "one thing" you can do that will make the rest of what you need to do easier. What might that "one thing" be? An enterprise change management office, because you can't manage across changes when you have no visibility as to what they are, who they impact and when they are hitting. You can't align messaging and behaviors needed to accomplish those changes. And you can't cut out the stupid - the work that is not really adding value. What is the role of an enterprise change management office? 🥁 Understand changes and impacts to target groups across the enterprise 🥁Translate what the projects/programs/portfolios are building to how they will impact different audience groups 🥁Create the bigger story and reduce the noise for end-users 🥁Create readiness and adoption across programs 🥁Monitor feedback and adoption across audience groups 🥁Build change agent networks that are project agnostic 🥁De-prioritize stupid work by showing risk 🥁Develop change leadership across the organization

What’s culture anyways? Culture is the collective behaviors of your organization and the cause and effect of every decision you make (including the lowest behaviors you are willing to tolerate in your organization). You have a culture whether you are intentional about it or not. It’s like wind. It’s there. You may not always see it but you sure can feel it. And it’s powerful. Enter stage left: a transformation your company is undertaking. Culture can either be your headwind or the wind in your back. Ok, it could also act like crosswinds on an Iowa highway - the worst…, we are sure you get our drift (pun fully intended). Why would you want to leave it up to chance? We think it’s the first thing that needs to be examined when you are embarking on change. To make sure it’s what you need to propell you forward.
