2025 News to share – Alyssa has been appointed to the national AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) leadership group!

We’ve been working away with our great partners at Agency Landscape + Planning, Landwise Advisors and VHB envisioning the future of Lebanon’s downtown waterfront. We’ve moved on from the furious sketching stage and are looking forward to sharing our progress with the Lebanon Downtown Economic Development Commission and TIF Advisory Board this evening!

Alyssa reunited with her AIA Strategic Council colleagues Jean Carroon FAIA, FAPT, LEED Fellow, + Diantha Korzun, AIA LEED AP to present their research on water at last week's AIA New Hampshire Education Day.

Placework is proud to have partnered with POAH Communities, Kaplan Thompson Architects and ALA | Aceto Landscape Architects to develop this proposal for the City of Portsmouth, NH. We're looking forward to the opportunity to engage with the Sherburne & Pannaway Manor communities and learn more. Involvement in our local communities is central to Placework. Last week our own Josh Lacasse volunteered to help lead a planning charrette in his community of Newmarket. In support of the Town’s ongoing Master Plan update, the team recommended strategies for improving engagement to the town’s historic riverfront. We are proud to contribute to this amazing process, thanks to the leadership of the Town of Newmarket and Plan New Hampshire!

Congratulations to Plan New Hampshire for the important work that you do in NH communities. Placework has been proud to be part of the charette program over many years, including Josh Lacasse in Newmarket last week. We're excited to see what comes of this great work.

What a week! We gathered with the wonderful people of Team Flo, our NESEA BuildingEnergy Bottom Lines group. We’re leaving feeling supported and inspired. Many thanks to Northeast Sustainable Energy Association and GoodWork Seacoast for hosting us at the beautiful Carey Cottage.

We were excited to share our findings at these recent City of Lebanon, New Hampshire events. Our team is moving into the planning phase and we look forward to sharing progress later this year!

It’s exciting to see the progress at the Roberts Farm Experiential Learning project for MSAD17, in Norway, Maine. This is our first project to use TimberHP – both blown in and batts in the double stud wall. We’re eager to employ these bio-based materials that are low carbon, non-toxic, and support the New England economy!

Happy Back to School week! Placework celebrates teachers and students – and especially three of our own. This term Sara will be teaching a graduate studio at Boston Architectural College, Brian will lead Introduction to Architecture at University of New Hampshire and our Studio Manager Kim will be continuing her studies toward a degree in Architectural & Engineering Design at Southern Maine Community College.
