Every step in the biobased supply chain plays a role, from production to purchase. In the final stage, retailers connect American consumers with biobased products, managing transportation and logistics to grow the industry and meet increasing demand.

Once farmers provide the plant materials, manufacturers take the next step in the biobased supply chain. After receiving raw materials from farmers, manufacturers bring scientists' ideas to market, transforming plant feedstocks into biobased products like cleaning supplies, packaging, utensils, and clothing, supporting thousands of U.S. jobs.

When innovation leaves the lab, farmers bring it to life. Across America, farmers cultivate crops like corn, wheat, soy, and other plants to develop feedstocks for biobased products, starting plants' journey from the field to finished goods.

The biobased supply chain begins with scientists who transform plant materials into everyday essentials like cutlery, packaging, and electronics. Their work supports the growth of the American biobased products industry, paving the way for farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers to bring these products to market.
