PLANTING ROOTS

Community - It's what started Planting Roots. The longing to have people who "get us." Military life can be lonely and challenging, but the also have the great potential to build life-long, deep connections. It's like going to the field - sitting out there in the sleet for days at a time will bring you together like nothing else. Military life provides those opportunities in spades. Whether it's another transition, the challenge of building relationships again, the struggle to see God at work in the place where we are, the challenge of feeling like you don't have a place because you're name is not on he orders, or the loneliness that can sometimes come because you one of the few (and maybe only) women in the room. Here at Planting Roots, we get it. We live the life as military women and wives ourselves and have found that a community of women who encourage and equip us in the journey is worth it's weight in gold. That's what you'll find here - and in the coming year you'll find even more ways this community will grow and impact you right where you are, providing those connections you need. Planting Roots is invited in by military chapels and civilian churches to minister to and with women in uniform and military wives in their communities - we call these Expeditionary Events. We've traveled as far as Germany, Korea and Alaska, while also meeting women across the continental US from California (woohoo 29 Palms!) to Pennsylvania (who doesn't love Carlisle Barracks?). Each location chooses from a menu of options that fits both their vision for the event and their budget. Whether worship, workshops, speakers, publicity pieces, booklets/handouts, whatever, we bring what they need and get the honor of ministering with these ladies. Faith-based Resources specifically for women in uniform and military wives....because that's who wrote them. it's the unique thing about PLANTING ROOTS .... they speak the language of military life and live the life as well. The heart of Planting Roots is to equip and encourage military women and wives to grow in their faith, with a vision that they would all be deeply rooted in Christ. Resources - Bible Studies, Devotionals, and YouVersion reading plans are some of the ways we do that. These all have a voice of "we get you" as military women and wives as well as "this is what the Lord has taught us." Whether you want to dig into a specific Book or Passage of the Bible, hit a specific topic (transitions, multiplication of the church, etc), or just need some words to point you back to Jesus on a daily basis, we've got you. We are able to make these things come to life through the generosity of others. Our goal through our end of year giving is $20,000. Maybe you're new here or maybe you've been here for a while - either way, we wanted to share a snapshot of who we are and what we do. Planting Roots has an all-volunteer staff of the most amazing women who love Jesus, believe in the power of community, and live on mission to serve Christ wherever they are. BUT - even cooler than that they are women in uniform and military wives, representing every branch of service and season of service. Here we provide resources, community and events that speak your language and get your life because we are in it too. We believe God has some growing for us in the coming year. With a new study coming out, a discipleship training program launching, events around the world, and a global virtual community that will go with you wherever you are planted, we are on a mission. I had an amazing experience at the Military Influencer conference😄. It was a blessing to connect with fellow military professionals and share the mission of PLANTING ROOTS, a Christian organization focused on empowering military women to thrive in their faith and lives ✝️. The conversations I had were truly inspiring and reignited my passion for building community and deepening our faith. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who made this event so memorable!
