The newest attraction in San Francisco’s Central Waterfront designed to be resilient to climate change, features open lawns, a section of the Bay Trail, multiple plazas, and numerous trees and native plants. “The opening of Bayfront Park will significantly enhance the experience for all who visit Chase Center and Thrive City,” said Warriors President & Chief Operating Officer Brandon Schneider. “The Warriors are committed to making San Francisco and the Mission Bay neighborhood a vibrant, world-class destination and we are thrilled to see Bayfront Park add to that overall vision. Lake Tahoe is a such a gem💎 and thankfully so many leaders & groups are working hard to keep it that way. I joined the annual Tahoe Summit this week, which focused on building safe & sustainable transportation in Tahoe: ✅ More walking & biking trails to help people get out of their cars. ✅ Better transit to reduce congestion & pollution into the lake. ✅ Smart technology like on-demand ride sharing to help people get around the basin more easily. We also talked wildfire resilience, science monitoring of lake quality, & restoration projects with our partners from Nevada— an incredible bi-state working partnership. Highlight✨was meeing US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttegieg, who gave a dynamite keynote speech on how Biden/Harris Administration investments are helping us realize our vision for Tahoe— and the whole country. One of my favorites from his speech: “Trails to help people walk and bike in communities are not ornamental. They’re fundamental.” Proud to represent Gavin Newsom at the Summit w/ my wonderful colleagues Transportation Secretary Toks Omishakin, Caltrans Director Tony Tavares, CAL FIRE Chief Joe Tyler & Sara Aminzadeh and Christopher Calfee. Today, the California State Senate and Assembly adjourned to pay tribute to the life and legacy of Reverend Cecil Williams, the co-founder of GLIDEsf (Sept 22, 1929 - April 22, 2024). This moment represented a lifetime for Cecil (94 years!) of courage and faith to knock down doors of oppression and injustice. His life's work was to love unconditionally and be a voice for the voiceless.
