We've been sharing this with several providers... but wanted to post it here in case you haven't seen it yet. Our website has a dedicated page to referring clients. Just fill out a few brief details about your client, and we'll take care of the rest. We'll contact your client directly. And if our program is a fit, we'll get them started right away. (If IOP doesn't meet their needs, we'll refer them to another provider who can help instead. Or, if you wish, we can consult with you on next steps for your client.) Find the form at pluralhealthcare.com/refer. Or go to our website and click "Refer Client" in the top navigation menu. Thank you for your continued support. -- P.S. If you prefer, you're always welcome to have your client reach out to us themselves. Either way, we'll help direct them to the support they need.

For a quick, objective snapshot of your mental health, check out this free quiz (https://lnkd.in/gQgbbABG). It evaluates key elements of your well-being (such as relationships, peace of mind, optimism, and ability to overcome challenges). And it can indicate what level of care may be most helpful for your current situation. Take the quiz now and discover how to use your results: https://lnkd.in/gQgbbABG This quiz is adapted from the Schwartz Outcome Scale. Psychiatrists at Massachusetts General Hospital developed the SOS scale to help mental health professionals measure (and track) how their clients are doing. The scale works by having you rate your experience of major life areas, including: - Quality of relationships - Life satisfaction - Peace of mind - Optimism for the future - Ability to handle conflict - Self forgiveness - And more… These ratings are then combined into a total score between 0 and 60. (Higher scores indicate greater overall metal health.) Again, doing a self-assessment won’t not replace speaking with a therapist or psychiatrist. But it can still provide an objective view of how you’re doing and highlight potential next steps to consider. Go here to take it: https://lnkd.in/gQgbbABG #wellbeing #wellness #mentalhealth #quiz #selfassessment

A common question we hear is, “What is your intake process?” So we wanted to quickly walk through what happens when someone calls our mental health IOP (or is referred to us). With intakes, we have two main goals. First, our biggest priority is guiding folks to the type of care that will be the most effective for them, based on their situation. There are many types of mental health care. Sometimes our IOP is the best option. In other cases, we may refer to local providers who can better address someone's unique or urgent needs. Second, we work to make things as simple as possible. You can give someone our name/number, have them call us, and we’ll take care of everything from there. (You’re always welcome to reach out to us if you have questions.) When someone calls, we start by getting to know a bit about their situation. Sometimes we may discover right away that our program isn't a fit (e.g. schedule may not work, they may need help with substance use instead, etc.). And we'll immediately refer them to another trusted provider. If IOP is a potential option though, we schedule a free consultation with a licensed therapist. This is a one-on-one assessment for the person seeking care. The therapist will ask specific questions to determine what treatment is appropriate. And they'll answer any questions the client may have. The therapist is looking to see three main things: 1) That IOP group therapy is the right care for the client’s situation, challenges, and needs. 2) That the client will do well in a group setting. 3) That the client wants IOP themselves. Again, our goal is to direct people toward the care they need. If our IOP program is the right option, we’ll start the client as soon as possible – typically the next group session. We take care of everything including leave paperwork, insurance authorization, treatment planning, medication management, and more. If we’re not a fit, we’ll refer based on the type of support needed. We know many excellent providers in the community. And we’re grateful there are skilled providers (like you) we can confidently send clients to. We appreciate your support. #mentalhealth #therapy #intakeprocess #gettinghelp PPS: We created a short video to explain what IOP is, who it’s for, and how it can help. Check it out if you haven’t yet: https://lnkd.in/gUiSHXFr Or, if you have a colleague or client who needs extra support with their mental health, please pass it on to them.

Rather than seeking treatment for yourself, you may be helping a client, colleague, friend, or other loved one find mental health care. What a wonderful gift! Your support makes it more likely they’ll get the care they need. If they're open to your assistance... We recommend you do some of the initial research for them. Seek out a few providers and review their websites. Call the provider up to see if they may be a good fit. Here's a free PDF you can use to select a good program/provider: https://lnkd.in/g8TdKZjb After that initial research, please have your loved one speak privately with the provider. *The Final Decision Belongs to Them* Your loved one needs to choose for themselves whether IOP (or another treatment) is right for them… and have confidence that it can help them reach their goals. Then they’ll be committed to participating in the program and will more likely see positive results. One of our clients, LB, shared this with us recently: --- "I reached a low point in my life (due to anxiety & depression) and needed more support than I could get from family and friends. I didn’t know where to go, so I did some research and found out about Plural Healthcare. I had no idea what an IOP was and had never been to group therapy. I ended up calling and talking to their staff – who answered my many questions with patience and understanding. "I entered the program and it was one of the best decisions of my life. It was exactly what I needed to learn how my past shaped who I was and how I was dealing with stress and life. The group discussions were one the best parts of the program (in addition to the education and truly amazing therapists). Within the group, there was a level of acceptance, trust and openness that helped me understand who I am and that I am not alone. It truly was a life-changing experience for me." --- We’re honored to have had LB in our program. Her example is an inspiration. And while there are many takeaways from her story, for now we’ll just highlight one of them. Notice how she took responsibility for her care. She chose to seek out help in the first place. She researched a few options. She was curious and actively explored whether IOP could help her or not. And above all, once she joined the program, she kept on deciding to show up and participate in the group. Help is available. And it's empowering to take the first step and reach out. Remarkable transformation is possible when you find the care you need. It can be, as LB put it, a “life-changing experience”. #mentalhealth #support #therapy

When someone brings up suicidal thoughts, it's tempting to see these thought patterns as "bad things" that need defeating or fixing. Although distressing, thoughts of suicide can often be understandable human reactions to pain. Rather than trying to "go to war" with these thoughts, we can approach the discussion with curiosity and openness. Using approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS), we've seen powerful shifts when people explore their thoughts without judgment. Several months ago, one IOP client shared about her suicidal thoughts in group. Instead of immediately trying to push these difficult thoughts and feelings away, we asked questions like: "What is this part of you trying to say? What is it protecting you from?" Through the process of curious exploration, she began to open up. We could see her demeanor shift from guarded, scattered, and fragmented… to open, composed, and curious. After that group session, she never mentioned suicide again. This approach isn't about ignoring suicide or self-harm risk. It's about recognizing that these thoughts often carry important messages about a person's needs and experiences. One of our primary goals in IOP is to introduce clients to the broad scope of human experience. We aim to show that the things they learned to be ashamed of are often not only normal, but expected. When people feel truly heard, they can become more open to understanding themselves. They can take the first steps on the path toward healing. #NationalSuicidePreventionWeek #suicide #mentalhealth #therapy #ifs

This Saturday (Sept 7), we're hosting a new life skills workshop for high-school and college-aged students at our Creve Coeur office. Therapist Cassie Wichlenski is launching a group program called “Building Life Resilience.” And it's designed to empower students with essential life skills not taught in school, including... - Coping Strategies: Personalized plans for effective coping. - Stress & Anxiety: Techniques to stay calm and focused. - Self-Awareness: Understand and manage emotions. - Brain & Body: Learn stress effects on mind and body. - Problem-Solving: Tools to tackle challenges head-on. We can’t think of anyone better than Cassie for this important work. She’s been working with some of our clients recently. And they (along with all our staff) absolutely love her. We’re proud to support her new venture. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gFivaifG. And if you know any students who may be interested, please pass on the PDF flyer attached below. PS: There will be more sessions later this fall as well (including a session for middle-schoolers on Oct 5th). #mentalhealth #highschool #college #resilience #lifeskills #stress #anxiety

If you're struggling with symptoms of anxiety, doing a quick self-evaluation can help you decide what steps to take next. The GAD-7 Assessment below offers an objective measure of your condition. And it gives you results you can share with a mental health professional. The assessment asks you answer just a few simple multiple-choice questions. The higher your score, the more significant your anxiety (and the greater potential need for treatment). Click the link below to access our free quiz. It's 100% anonymous and confidential. https://lnkd.in/gi7tdhMS #anxiety #gad #quiz #therapy
