When I thought to turn this idea into a Poemefy, the idea was simple: create a gift that's relatable, memorable, and lasts forever. My goal was to provide the perfect gift, one that is truly relatable to the person who’s receiving it. I’m not that big gift-giver and neither I receive any gifts, but there’s one thing that I truly understand is "emotions". Yes, I'm a poet, so you can believe it 😛 In the last post, I shared an incident, and here's another one from that time. I saw one of my employers giving awards or certificates to “Employee of the Month” and “Employee Anniversary” without expressing much emotion and appreciation. Yes, the person earned these, but without sharing and appreciating efforts, employees will never feel how truly important their contributions are to the company. Another observation I made was during my cousin's marriage, my sister was busy buying numerous gifts on behalf of our cousin for her in-laws. The gifts ranged from a couple statues and clocks to cups and accessories. At that moment, I couldn't help but think that these gifts were non-relatable, and it seemed unlikely that anyone could genuinely be happy receiving something unrelated to them I observed young couples exchanging roses and teddies. While these gifts undoubtedly carry emotions, they often end up in the trash, and their memory fades after just a week. That's when the idea struck me – create a gift option suitable for any moment, something that truly connects with the person giving it and the person receiving it so it lasts forever. To bring happiness to anyone, all you need to do is call them by their name. People cherish being addressed by their name, as it holds the essence of their identity. Recognizing this, I developed the concept of a Personalized Naming Song. In this unique creation, the first alphabet of each line forms the person's name vertically. These songs are crafted based on the stories or moments that you want to express to the person. And that's what Poemefy was born to do. Well, I truly understand a physical gift is a physical gift that you can wrap in a box and give to someone as a mystery box to surprise anyone with. And I know I can't replace a physical gift with a digital one, like a video song. That's why we offer a variety of options for you – it's not just any ordinary digital song. I usually don't post on LinkedIn every day, but when I do, it's always something exciting to share with all of you – something that I hope will amaze you. Last year, I embarked on a journey of starting an NGO, and it has been a rewarding experience, focusing on something meaningful and inspiring others to take actions that may not bring immediate financial gains but significantly contribute to our collective human and personal development. Despite my dedication to this cause, the reality is that financial support is crucial. To make ends meet, I also take on additional work. However, when dreams are big, earnings sometimes fall short. That's why I've made the decision to pursue a master's in International Business Management in London, England, starting September 2024. Just when I thought everything was perfectly aligned and on the right track, a new idea surfaced in my mind – it happens quite often, but this one is truly unique and brand new. In December 2023, one of my few friends Shahin Preet Kaur went to the Canada for her graduation, and to wish her the best of luck, I gifted her a ring from GIVA. The gift had an option for a personalized note, and being a writer and poet, I usually craft poems inspired by names. I wrote for her too but Unfortunately, GIVA printed the poem incorrectly on a personalized note, and her name didn't appear as intended. This incident sparked the unique concept of writing personalized poetic naming songs, and that's how Poemefy was born within a week. Within a few weeks, I received positive responses from real customers, and Poemefy started gaining traction. Now, you might be wondering why I'm sharing this on LinkedIn, especially about personalized gifts on a platform that typically focuses on employers and employees.
