Our thoughts are turned to friends and partners and all those impacted by the catastrophic flooding in Valencia and surrounding region. We send our heartfelt condolences for the loss of life, livelihood and community, and extend sincere support and safe recovery to all those affected by this disaster. PIN partners recently gathered in Valencia for Opentop_Hub’s Port Entrepreneurship International Congress at the Valencia Digital Summit, where your kindness welcomed us all.

An intensive week in #valencia has come to an end. Beside the fact that I am Valencia Fan, no matter what weather it offers (believe it or not, it was raining a lot), the travel here always worths. PIN - Port Innovators Network has celebrated the first birthday 🎂 at the #PEIC_2024 as one of the main day programs of VDS 2024. The summit was full with interesting topics, cross-industrial and more inspirational than last year. Congratulations to all who worked hard behind it 👏. The PIN started with 3 hub members (homePORT Hamburg, Opentop_Hub and The PIER at the Seaport ) in 2 continents (Europe and North America). A year later, 2 new hubs (Cubo Itaú and SmartPortLab) from the 3rd continent (South America) joined us. Currently, we have many interests lined up on the list. So, we will grow surely with quality and expand our footprints with importance of geographical coverage allowing us to create more impact in #innovation scaling and adoption globally. The intensed and focused discussions we had in our strategy meeting depicted clearly the commitment and a very high level of operational engagement of all partners to achieve our common mission for 2025. We have got a clear plan to gain and engage new members, a result-oriented roadmap and priorities aligning activities we are initiating. I’m truly privileged to be a part of the team and able to work with all colleagues of #PIN. Like what Mike Davie said: #withPINweWIN Let’s get things done and together we will achieve more! Thank you all to make this trip so memorable. 🥰 #portinnovators #portofthefuture #portiswhatwedo #zeroemissionport #sustainability

For many of us, maritime shipping and port logistics are not just an industry but a big family. The annual biggest family gathering of port professionals and executives just ended yesterday, IAPH World Ports Conference 2024. It was not only insightful, inspirational, informative but also emotional. I am grateful once again to be a part of it, to contribute results and to witness the positive and great collegial vibes in this community. Three days with a lot of insights and exchanges how to leverage the capabilities of our industry to many unknown factors which could determine the future of the industry especially in terms of #energysupplychain, #infrastructuredevelopment and #supplychainresilience, just to name a few. Together with leading partner associations, International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) and chainPORT launched the study “Port Call Optimization through Data Quality” as one of significant milestones of the Supply Chain Resilience in Ports Task Force. The study summarizes the learnings and recommendations from the ports and stakeholders who have already implemented the port call optimization. It also depicts practical steps how the implementation can be initiated with best practices. Thank you to all contributors to make this happen 🙏 and also to Victor Shieh for your support in the communication work. See more in the press release here: https://lnkd.in/e__PZyGu One of my highlights was to play Port Endeavor Game which is a very good educational tool to give port managers and professionals how they could achieve SDGs. The game experience was the best as I had a great team. 😊 Thank you Mark Assaf, Antonis Michail and the team for your fantastic facilitation. Congratulations to all award winners 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 in six categories of the World Ports Sustainability Program. It is impressive that that 401 projects from 65 countries are already in the database. I am very impressed to see the efforts of small ports where resources and possibilities are quite limited but they came with impactful measures towards sustainability. And even more grateful that some of them have won the prizes and become the role models of the community. See all award winners here: https://lnkd.in/eWFctKQD Last but not least, I would like to farewell my dear colleague and friend, Ingrid Boqué Sastre, to pursue her next career steps and wish her all the best back in her hometown Barcelona. I look forward to further collaboration in her new role! #portofthefuture #portindustry
