On Wednesday, the Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Michael McMahon as the next superintendent of PWSSD! Dr. McMahon is the current director of teaching and learning in the Grafton School District. Before that, he was an elementary principal in Grafton, following a school leadership role in the Wausau School District. He started his career in education as a fourth-grade teacher. Dr. McMahon holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Edgewood College, and a master’s degree in educational professional development from UW-Eau Claire. He also earned an administrative degree from UW-Superior, along with a bachelor’s degree in elementary/middle education from UW-Eau Claire. He lives in Saukville with his wife, Julia, and their three children. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in this process and who have made their voices heard! Dr. McMahon will officially begin his duties in PWSSD on July 1, 2024.

We educate all students to reach their greatest potential and we have a very special place here. Our comprehensive K-12 school district serves approximately 2,700 students throughout Port Washington and Saukville. Our district is comprised of Port Washington High School, Thomas Jefferson Middle School, and three elementary schools (Dunwiddie, Lincoln, and Saukville), along with our School District Main Office. We are located along the western shore of Lake Michigan in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin.
