Pragyans excel again! On 21st December, 2024 - the team of Abhranil Poddar (4th year) and Sayanta Dutta (alumnus) participated in the first edition of East Bengal Official Quiz. The quiz was officially hosted by the @eastbengalfootballclub at the KCC Amphitheatre and drew in participants across the state. The die hard East Bengal supporting duo of Abhranil and Sayanta, cruised through the prelims and finished Third in the prestigious quiz, earning yet another laurel. We have more good news coming! On 17th November, team of three Pragyan alumni represented UEM Kolkata in the Online MELAS Quiz by AIIMS Kalyani. The team comprising Ayush Mazumdar , Chirag Gupta and Shayak Karan finished Second in the quiz! Another team comprising Abhranil Poddar and Barshan Banerjee , participated in the BizTech Quiz of IIM JOKA. They qualified for the finals and narrowly missed out on a podium finish after a spirited performance. Congratulations to both teams!

Another feather in the cap of Pragya! On 16th November, a team of three Pragyans namely - • Dipanjan Dhar • Siddhartha Chowdhury • Aniket Adhikari Represented UEM Kolkata in "The Final Whistle - Sports Quiz" by AIIMS Kalyani. The three musketeers from Pragya put up an excellent performance and finished 2nd (second) in the competition, surpassing formidable teams from all over the country. Pragyans excel again! On 11th November, four teams from Pragya - UEMK Quiz Club participated in the prestigious Battle of Brains - Inter College Quiz Competition by Amity University, Kolkata. The UEM Kolkata teams stormed into the finals and dominated the entire competition. Here's what the final podium looked like - First Position: Aniket Adhikari, Shayak Karan and Indrojeet Nayek. Second Position: Mahargha Saha, Abhishek Mukherjee and Subhadeep Mondal. Another team comprising of Sayak Raha, Abhranil Poddar and Hamza Sheikh Hamedur Rahman agonisingly finished 4th in the finals. The fourth team of Dipanjan Dhar, Siddhartha Chowdhury and Ankan Paul fought valiantly in the prelims but couldn't make it to the finals. The teams were awarded with trophies and handsome cash prizes. This result further proves Pragya's excellence and is a testament to the impressive quizzing culture in UEM Kolkata. We are proud to announce that two teams from UEM Kolkata, including one from Pragya—UEMK Quiz Club, qualified for the State Finals of the RBI90Quiz, a nationwide quiz celebrating the 90th anniversary of RBI. Competing among over 500 teams, our students excelled in the elimination round to secure their place. The teams are: Team 1: - Mahargha Saha (BBA) - Sneha Priya (CSE AI & ML) Team 2: - Anish Banerjee (CSE AI & ML) - Arghadeep Saha (CSE AI & ML) Held on November 8th at The Westin, Rajarhat, the State Finals saw both teams display remarkable grit and determination. Though they missed out on a podium finish, their performance earned honorable mentions, further enhancing our institution's reputation in the national quizzing circuit. Pragya, the official Quiz Club of UEM Kolkata hosted the much awaited Yukti Yagna - the U-25 Biz-Tech Quiz in collaboration with DriveBlaze - the Technical Magazine of UEM Kolkata on 28th September 2024. The QMs - Barshan Banerjee andIndrojeet Nayek tested the wits of the participants with questions from the world of business & technology. After a clash of wits with 17 teams in the prelims, 8 teams moved to the finals. After three energetic rounds, the following emerged as the podium finishers - 1st : Aniket Adhikari and Shuvam Podder 2nd : Saranjit Paul and Swastik Banerjee 3rd : Subhadeep Mondal and Arunava Das The winners were honoured with medals, certificates and cash prizes by Prof. Dr. Maumita Chakraborty, Head of the Department, CST & CSIT and Prof. Dr. Subhalaxmi Chakraborty. Pragya 6th Sense, the highlight of JIGISHA 2024, was held with great anticipation at the UEM Kolkata campus. JIGISHA 2024, the annual quiz festival of UEM Kolkata, was proudly organized by Pragya, the university's official quiz club. The highly anticipated open general quiz - Pragya 6th Sense, attracted the largest number of participants among all offline quizzes in JIGISHA. More than 70 teams, representing diverse backgrounds, arrived to compete in this intense battle of knowledge. The in-house quizmasters — Chirag Gupta, Shayak Karan, Arnab Das and Upen Mukherjee put the contestants to the test, challenging them to push their intellectual limits. After two gruelling prelims, the top 8 teams secured their spots in the finals. The final round was fiercely competitive, with each team fighting hard for a place on the podium. After three intense rounds, the podium finishers were as follows: 1st: Saransh Mohapatra & Sreshth Shah 2nd: Samanway Banerjee & Sourav Bose 3rd: Aakash Roy & Raktim Kumar Nag The podium finishers were rewarded with substantial cash prizes and sleek trophies during the prize distribution ceremony. Fandomania, the highly anticipated Fandom and Pop-Culture Quiz of Jigisha 3.0 was held on 25th August, 2024 at the UEM Kolkata Campus, proudly presented by Pragya - the official Quiz Club of UEM Kolkata. More than 90 teams of two, turned up on the event day with great enthusiasm and battle it all out for the podium. The QM trio of Argha Saha, Sayak Raha and Indrojeet Nayek tested the participant's knowledge with questions from various fandoms and all things pop culture. After a highly entertaining and thrilling prelims, the top 8 teams moved to the finals. The finals were lively and full of enthusiasm with each team pushing their boundaries for the podium finish. After a close contest of wits, the 3 teams who emerged as podium finishers are - 1st : Sounadip Ghosh and Aditri Chaudhari 2nd: Kritadhi Banerjee and Karishnu Banerjee 3rd: Vansh Gandhi and Yusuf Azmi The winners were felicitated with lucrative cash prizes and handsome trophies during the awards ceremony.
