This week, we officially announced that we will host the PR7s All-Star Tournament in Portland on Sunday, Nov. 17, with multiple Olympians. We've heard many describe Portland as the epicenter of women's sports. As a league built on equality, the women of PR7s have been on an equal playing field as the men since we were founded in 2021. We are incredibly proud of what USA Rugby has accomplished, and we look forward to showcasing both the women and the men at Providence Park next month. Thanks to Just Women's Sports and all of the media that continue to shed light on our exciting game. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eBzwGmWs #rugby #rugbysevens #womenssports #portland

An active duty US Army officer ... a Bronze medal-winning Olympian ... and star of the Pittsburgh Steeltoes in PR7s. Meet the amazing Sammy Sullivan, who joined Pittsburgh Today Live on CBS this morning. "PR7s, and being part of the Steeltoes, was a great tool to get playing time against some of the best athletes in the world. When we are in the offseason from the HSBC Sevens Series in the summer, there is not a lot of opportunity to grow on an international and professional level. PR7s has really helped bridge that gap. I gained a lot of leadership experience from being on the Steeltoes team ... That was also very helpful going into an Olympic year." 🎥: KDKA-TV USA Rugby #rugby #rugbysevens #military #usarmy #olympian

What's next for Rugby Sevens? Forbes' writer Vitas Carosella caught up with Owen Scannell to discuss the future of the sport and more. From today's article: "PR7s was established with gender equity front of mind. It provides equal pay, equal access to high-performance facilities, and equal promotion and media access for all its athletes, men and women. Men’s and women’s games are even integrated into the same matchday, something that sounds incredibly appealing given the talent displayed in both divisions at the Olympics."
