Residents at St Andrew's Village, Indiana PA, skilled nursing center and personal care participated in the Indiana County Tourist Bureau's Holiday Parade. This was a fantastic way to bring joy and inclusion to those who might otherwise not have the chance to be involved in community events. Involving residents in this local parade provided them an opportunity to engage in the holiday festivities, feel connected to the community, and create lasting memories. For the Indiana County "It's a Wonderful Life" parade, residents were featured in the brand new St. Andrew's Village bus while team members marched alongside them. They waved at the crowds, wore festive necklaces, and even joined Memory Care Manager Sam Odom in singing carols, making it a fun and interactive experience. Participating in events such as this highlights the importance of community engagement and reminds everyone of the value and joy that people of all ages bring to celebrations. Residents and team members celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Glen Meadows, a PSL community in Glen Arm, MD. The semi-formal event brought many smiles, hugs, laughter and togetherness. Happy hour, dinner, dancing and dessert filled the afternoon and into the late evening.

Kirkland Village's Memory Support Coordinator recently spent two weeks collaborating with Moravian University and their Occupational Therapy students for a job shadowing experience. During their time at the PSL community, the students interacted with willing residents, engaging them in activities designed to assess cognitive abilities, promote memory recognition, and support overall well-being.
