New York City Public Housing Preservation Trust

On November 4th, the NYC Department of Small Business Services hosted its annual Citywide M/WBE Procurement Fair, a key networking event designed to connect Minority- and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) with city agencies. The Trust participated as an exhibitor alongside several other NYC agencies, offering attendees the chance to learn more about our work and opportunities for collaboration. Over 120 firms stopped by our table to introduce themselves and gain a better understanding of our agency’s initiatives. The fair featured a diverse range of vendors, providing services in areas such as architecture, consulting, general contracting, information technology, outreach, resident partnerships, and more, creating an invaluable platform for networking and fostering future business relationships. 

On November 14, our very own, Vlada Kenniff, Ph.D. and Jenny Gillette, presented at CMAA Metro NY/NJ Chapter’s event to discuss the Trust’s mission to modernize public housing. Our presentation highlighted the Trust’s progress and pipeline, and how CMs fit into our model to ensure equitable, sustainable housing for New Yorkers. Exciting news for the Nostrand Houses community in Brooklyn!    The Trust has issued its first Trust Mod Request for Proposal for major renovations, benefiting over 2,200 residents. We’re proud to have shortlisted three talented firms committed to delivering quality renovations that reflect resident needs and aspirations.   This initiative marks a significant step in our journey to modernize public housing and improve living conditions. With residents at the forefront of this process, we’re dedicated to creating spaces that enhance their quality of life. 📢 𝗡𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗱 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 📢   On 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵, the Trust held a community meeting to share the findings from the resident visioning sessions and surveys. We had over 60 residents in attendance all eager to hear about updates on the Trust Mod project at Nostrand Houses.
