PrimeWest Health is a partnership of 24 rural Minnesota counties. The counties joined together to provide health coverage solutions to those eligible for Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP). At this time, PrimeWest Health offers coverage for more than 45,000 eligible residents of 13 counties: Beltrami, Big Stone, Clearwater, Douglas, Grant, Hubbard, McLeod, Meeker, Pipestone, Pope, Renville, Stevens, and Traverse. Eleven more counties joined PrimeWest Health on January 1, 2020. These counties are Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Nobles, Redwood, Swift, and Yellow Medicine. However, PrimeWest Health is not providing health coverage in these counties in 2020. Over 12,600 medical and social services providers make up the PrimeWest Health network which stretches across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. With over 160 employees, PrimeWest Health is a major employer in the Alexandria, MN area and offers competitive salaries and benefits.
