🌟 Expanding Legal Access for Unhoused Youth with the National Homelessness Law Center & Alston & Bird The National Homelessness Law Center (NHLC) and pro bono attorneys from Alston & Bird have teamed up to create Access to Mental Health Treatment: Unhoused Youth and Young Adults, a guide that navigates complex state policies on mental health consent, coverage, and access for youth experiencing homelessness. 🔍 The Need: With over 4.2 million young people experiencing homelessness each year, 89% of unhoused youth face mental health challenges, yet legal and logistical barriers make it difficult to access care. 📜 Impactful Collaboration: This guide, combining NHLC’s policy expertise and Alston & Bird’s pro bono support, helps youth and advocates overcome barriers to mental health treatment, covering consent laws, Medicaid access, and more across states. 💡 A Step Toward Change: This partnership demonstrates the power of nonprofit and pro bono collaboration in creating pathways for underserved youth to access critical care and services. 📖 Read more in the latest PBEye blog post: https://lnkd.in/ebQ_6F2p #NonprofitSpotlight #ProBono #MentalHealthAccess #YouthEmpowerment #SocialImpact
