Professional Drywall Construction, Inc., (PDC), recently transferred ownership to two of its employees. Ron Perry and Nick Shaink are now carrying on founder John Kendzierski’s legacy as the leading commercial drywall contractor in South Western New England. Former owner John Kendzierski will remain on the Board of Directors, as a consultant.
PDC will continue to operate from its West Springfield, MA, office, but in order to better serve the construction industry in Connecticut, it recently opened a second office in South Norwalk, CT. The new location allows PDC to react more quickly to requests from its Connecticut customers, and provide additional on-site consultation in the Southern CT area.
Affiliated with the carpenters and laborers union since 1997, PDC has grown to become a regional firm with 200+ employees, working in Western and Central Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, Southern New Hampshire and across Connecticut. PDC is pre-qualified to work in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, and has a bonding capacity of up to $35,000,000, enabling PDC to accommodate virtually any size project.

Gaining hands-on experience in construction while still in college? That’s exactly what our incredible intern, Julia, is doing. After discovering her passion for architecture in high school, she set her sights on understanding the full construction process. Through her internship, she’s learned the ins and outs of submittals, purchase orders, and specialty materials—experience that’s reinforcing her studies in Building Construction Management & Engineering. "This internship has completely changed my perspective on construction. I used to think it was just about designing and building, but now I see how much more goes into making a project come to life." Julia’s got big plans ahead: earning her Master of Architecture and becoming a licensed architect. This week DPR Construction had a great visit with A.I. Prince Technical High School in Hartford, CT. Along with Thomas Aldrich, Danny Caron and myself, DPR was joined by our friends from PDC INCORPORATED CENTURY DRYWALL, INC., CAPASSO ENTERPRISES INC. and Marc Okun with the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters to visit the students engaging in the school’s masonry and carpentry workshops. Working with Brent McCartney for over a year now, it’s been great to learn about the programs that Connecticut vocational schools have put in place to get their students ready for the trade workforce of their choice. DPR looks forward to furthering our relationship with Brent and the schools to continue bringing new talent to the Connecticut construction workforce!
