This time, we're going for the theme "Journey to Recovery". You can express your mental health journey through art, poetry, words, music- anything! Im excited to announce that the project I have been working on at my clinical placement at UCL’s Great Ormond Street, Institute of Child Health, in collaboration with a team of cognitive neuroscientists at Imperial College London is now live! Sharing this study friends or relatives that may be interested would be amazing as it will help us understand how #epilepsy affects cognition in children and subsequently helping us to make better treatments for epileptics. Do you have a child with epilepsy or are you a child/adolescent with epilepsy? Do you like playing online brain games? We want to know whether it may be possible to use an online platform to assess cognitive function in children with epilepsy aged 5-20. 📢📢📢MENTAL HEALTH GUEST SPEAKER EVENT! The Stemistry Project's Social Impact Department is holding a mental health webinar THIS SUNDAY, April 21 (04/21) at 10AM PST! This is a great opportunity, especially for high school students about to take AP Exams in a few weeks or anyone dealing with underlying stress from other factors in their life. We have two speakers planned who will be speaking on overcoming burnout and tips on how to combat it! Read about them here: Karmelle Ramillano is a two-time CSULB alum! She received both her B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Counseling Psychology from CSULB. She has been a full-time mental health clinician at the Long Beach Trauma Recovery Center since 2020 and has worked with diverse survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, childhood abuse, and other traumatic events. Rachel Haley received her B.A. in Psychology from Tuskegee University, an Illustrious Historically Black University. She furthered her education and obtained her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy and is currently continuing her education for her Doctoral degree. She has a diverse background working with individuals, adolescents, and families of different races and socioeconomic backgrounds. She is currently working at Shakti Therapy as an Associate Marriage and Family therapist focusing on Identity, Racial Trauma, relationships, emotions, spirituality, Astrology and neuroscience.
