What is period poverty? 🤔 Period poverty is when people can't afford menstrual products, sanitation, and hygiene facilities. It can also refer to a lack of education and awareness about menstrual health. Who loves the Junior League of Las Vegas? WE DO! 👏🏻 👏🏻 This group joined our Period Posse right when we started back in 2019 and have been loyal supporters ever since. On Wednesday they came in and packed 300 kits that will immediately go out to Three Square Food Bank. Did you know that Three Square Food Bank distributes 500 kits a month on our behalf? Today we were fortunate to have a volunteer group from MGM Resorts International volunteer with us. This cheerful group packed 300 kits that will immediately be heading out to help girls in our community. We appreciate our community who shows up each and every day to ensure women and girls have the period supplies they need to hold their head high. Yesterday was a busy one for our Period Posse. 💪🏻 We had members of the Southern Nevada Health District in to pack with us. Together they assembled 280 period kits. Then we were fortunate enough to share kits with Signs of Hope-R.I.S.E. Last, but certainly not least, one of our most dedicated Period Posse members Liz came to pick up some personal kits to share with her students at The College of Southern Nevada. Nothing makes us happier than when we can provide period products to those who need them. Because everyone deserves a healthy and dignified period.
