PowerUp information event in Cyprus A very successful and productive information and dissemination event, regarding the results of the Project "PowerUp/Support of former workers in the energy sector with the aim of reintegration into the labor market" within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Program https://lnkd.in/d5BBjFjy of the European Commission, was held on Wednesday 23.10.2024 at the "Kerynia" Amphitheatre of Neapolis Paphos University, organized by both of Cypriot project’s partners Neapolis University and PA Partners for Skills Development. During the event, the Project’s team presented its main deliverables and outputs to an audience consisting of members of the broader student and academic community as well as significant stakeholders of citizen society and the business community, such as Terra Cypria and 360bysinessconsulting.pro. The Cypriot partners want to express their warm thanks to all participants in the event for their support and fruitful collaboration during the two years of PowerUp Project implementation. They wish to contribute to a smoother green transition process, enhance social cohesion, and minimize the negative impact of job loss for ex-workers in fossil fuel energy production.

Invitation to PowerUp Project Information Event of Erasmus+ Program An open information and dissemination event of the results of the Project "PowerUp/Support of Former workers in the Energy Sector with the aim of reintegration into the Labor Market" within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Program of the European Commission will be held on Wednesday 23.10.2024 from 11.00 to 13.00 at the "Kyrenia" Amphitheater of Neapolis Paphos University. The general priorities of the Project contribute to achieving environmental sustainability and tackling climate change and the sectoral priorities to enhance the employment opportunities for former workers in fossil fuel energy production and promote the innovation in Lifelong Education and Training limiting the negative impact of job losses, as a result of the green transition. The active participation of the University team with other 7 partners from 4 European Countries (France, Greece, Bulgaria, and Cyprus) in the implementation and completion of the Project, created strong synergies between Higher Education Institutions of the Single European Higher Education Area and Vocational Training Centers, contributing to the strategic axes of Neapolis University Pafos to promote the academic excellence, in the production of innovative applied knowledge as well as in social contribution and development of citizen’s society in local and national level. watch link: bit.ly/PowerUP24

Information on the final Conference of the PowerUp Project in the frame of the Erasmus+ Program in Plovdiv, on 10 October 2024 The final PowerUp Conference was held on the 10th of October in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The event's host was the Agricultural University of Plovdiv (AUP). The conference brought together stakeholders and visitors in Alma mater of the University raising awareness about the project deliverables and results and informing the local communities. The Conference contributed to the efficient engagement of key local and European stakeholders. The objectives of the final conference were: (1) Efficient engagement of key local and European stakeholders and (2) Dissemination of project outcome. At the event, more than 100 people participated. The main audience was stakeholders dealing with the problem of Re-entering the job market of former employees of coil power plants, situated in the town of Stara Zagora. Staza Zaroga is the second largest region, providing electricity for the coil mine industry and it is the most vulnerable region pointed out in the Bulgarian Green Deal. The governor of Polovdiv, the Mear of Plovdiv, and of several municipalities around Stara Zagora were involved in the discussion about the impact of the Green Deal and all issues that arises in the context of the green policies in the energy sector. The PowerUP team presented the PowerUp project outcome and initiated the discussion about the possibilities for re-entering the job market by the former power plant employees in Stara Zagora.

Final PowerUp conference The final PowerUp conference will be held on the 10th of October in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The Agricultural University of Plovdiv will host the event. The conference will get together stakeholders and visitors in Alma mater of the University. The event will raise awareness of the project deliverables and results and inform and educate the local communities in the partnership countries regarding VET education opportunities and job market insights. The final conference will contribute to the efficient engagement of key local and European stakeholders.
