Michele Miller is a Project Purple Super Human with an inspiring story. In 2021, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and faced a daunting treatment plan. Now Michele is cancer-free and has taken up paddleboarding to provide herself with a gentle challenge. Rebuilding after a pancreatic cancer diagnosis involves more than just medical treatment; positive outlets can significantly aid in addressing the psychological and physical challenges associated with the disease.

Running to BEAT pancreatic cancer.
About us
Pancreatic cancer has one of the highest mortality rates of all cancers -- the 3rd highest in the U.S. -- yet it receives the least funding of all the top ten cancers. We envision a world without pancreatic cancer. To that end, Project Purple participates in a variety of events and campaigns to raise funds for our two main programs: research into early detection methods and a cure, and providing financial aid to pancreatic cancer patients currently struggling with the burden or medical and living expenses. "My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2008. After a year of treatments we thought he had cleared the woods, but it reared its ugly head again, and on September 5th 2011, my dad died. I started Project Purple in an effort to help raise awareness for this horrible disease in the hope that our contribution will help researchers find a cure." - Dino Verrelli, Founder & CEO of Project Purple

I BEAT THE ODDS! 5 years ago today I was diagnosed with #pancreatic #cancer. I had a 90% chance of NOT living for 5 years. Well - today is my 5 year anniversary! I did it! My kids have been my rock. I am so grateful for them and the many people who have supported me. Beyond the dark clouds and storms is always the sun. That sun is shining brightly on me today! Having #HOPE and a supportive team can always get you through any #crisis. I know this from my #incidentresponse work and leveraged those skills to navigate my own crisis. #grateful #beattheodds #cardinal The comeback is always better than the setback! Thank you everyone. I feel so loved and supported!
