We are so grateful to have had the support of so many amazing community volunteers who helped transform our new building into the beautiful, welcoming space it is today. 🌿 Plants – Thanks to the Providence Neighborhood Planting Program for bringing life and greenery into our outdoor space. 🎨 Mural – Thank you Dana Heng from New Urban Arts, Katie Gui from The Met High School, Tycho Horan from RISD/Binch Press, and Fatema Maswood from RISD, for creating a mural that captures the vibrancy of our community. It’s a work of art that will inspire all who enter. These contributions, along with many others, have helped us build a space where individuals feel welcomed. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey.

To Our Community, The year 2024 brought its challenges, such as the loss of beloved staff and clients, uncertainties at the federal level, and the ongoing overdose and housing crises. Yet, it was also a year of remarkable victories. Once a small team just eight years ago, we have now secured a 21,000 sq. ft. facility to expand our services to include medical care, substance use treatment, and overdose prevention. As we close out 2024, we’d like to highlight some of the year’s most meaningful milestones with our own “Best of” list: 🎉 Most Joyful Celebration: Trans Day of Remembrance – A packed house filled with song, laughter, heartfelt tributes, and delicious food. 🏆 Most Creative Recovery Leader: Our recovery housing program has supported nearly 1,500 people over four years with placements, rent support, and navigation services. 💪 Most Powerful Commemoration: International Overdose Awareness Day, where we distributed 4,500 Narcan doses statewide and held an inspiring evening vigil. 🚐 Best at Meeting People Where They Are: We purchased our fourth outreach van, funded by the Champlin Foundation, helping us reach more people and serve more locations. 🏅 Most Resilient Lifeline: Our Pawtucket Drop-In Center served over 3,000 people with food, harm reduction, and health services. These highlights are just a glimpse of the work our dedicated team does every day. As we step into 2025, we need your help to keep this work going. Our goal is to raise $20,000 in the next week, and with your support, I know we can reach it. https://lnkd.in/exmRZzWs Thank you for being by our side. ❤️ — Colleen

Every life lost to an overdose is not just a story left unfinished—it’s a life full of hopes, dreams, and love that was cut too short. For those of us who have experienced this preventable loss, the memory of those we've lost fuels our drive to act. It’s what motivates us to work tirelessly, ensuring that no one else has to endure the same tragedy. At Project Weber/RENEW, we’re committed to helping every individual continue their journey—providing the resources they need to live safer, healthier lives and to write the next chapter in their story. Your support can turn our loved one’s memories into meaningful action. Donate to our end-of-year appeal and help us create more opportunities for people to build brighter futures. On Tuesday, we cut the ribbon on the country’s first state sanctioned overdose prevention center and PWR’s expanded drop-in center. Ashley Perry, PWR Deputy Director and Overdose Prevention Center Co-Director, powerfully captured what this moment means: “Today, we are not just making history. We are breaking the generational chains of trauma caused by preventable overdoses. We are telling the country that here in little Rhode Island the lives of those suffering with addiction matter. From a young age, I saw that the war on drugs was always a war on communities. I saw families ripped apart by the legal system, including my own. We were terrorized and vilified for our biggest crime—being poor. I am so proud to be a small part of the true story of this neighborhood, one of strength and resilience. One that is playing its part in uprooting the war on drugs. Our building here will not only prevent overdose deaths but represents hope, justice, and the belief that our community deserves health and love instead of shame and punishment.” To every single person who believed in our vision of the overdose prevention center—we are profoundly grateful. Thank you to all the members of our amazing community who have supported us along the way. This is only the beginning of the work - we look forward to opening our doors soon to clients and saving lives. With immense love and gratitude, PWR 📸by: Dominique Sindayiganza | @sindayiganza
