People experiencing homelessness are exceedingly vulnerable during extreme weather events. PATH CEO Jennifer Hark Dietz spoke with Marketplace by APM's reporter, Kimberly Adams, about evacuating several of PATH’s interim and supportive housing sites due to the Los Angeles fires. Our teams sprang into action to evacuate and relocate people as needed. Thankfully, our participants were able to return, and we continue to provide support and resources as needed. Earlier this year, WeHOPE was awarded a $500,000 grant from CA RISE. Last week, Senator Josh Becker and the CA RISE team visited our office to present a ceremonial check. The funds were dedicated to reopening our HOPE Jobs program. HOPE Jobs provides employment to formerly incarcerated individuals, and people who are experiencing homelessness. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this meaningful partnership possible.
