National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week reminds us that behind the statistics are real people, each with a story, struggles, and hopes. This week, we come together to raise awareness about the impact of food insecurity and homelessness, issues that affect millions in our communities every day. By highlighting these challenges, we inspire action toward creating a society where everyone has access to nutritious food, safe housing, and the support they need to thrive. Let’s take this opportunity to educate ourselves, volunteer, and advocate for policies that make lasting change. Together, we can build a future where no one has to face hunger or homelessness alone.

November is Homelessness Awareness Month, a time to spotlight the challenges faced by those without stable housing and the efforts needed to create lasting change. In 2023 alone over 650,000 people in US face housing insecurity or are unhoused, and the effects ripple through communities, impacting education, health, and opportunity. It's more than just a statistic—it’s a call to action. This month, I’m reflecting on how we can drive policy change, support local shelters, volunteer, and contribute to initiatives that aim to end the cycle of homelessness. I encourage everyone to take a moment this month to learn, engage, and support organizations that are making a difference. Let’s work together toward a future where everyone has a safe place to call home. If you have impactful stories, resources, or organizations to share, please comment below. Let’s amplify the conversation. #HomelessnessAwareness #CommunitySupport"

🌍 Honoring World Mental Health Day 🧠 Today, on World Mental Health Day, we reflect on the importance of mental well-being in every aspect of our lives. Mental health is not just about overcoming challenges—it's about building resilience, fostering compassion, and creating a safe space for ourselves and others. As we continue to break down the stigma around mental health, let’s prioritize open conversations, active support systems, and self-care practices. Whether you're a peer supporter, a mental health professional, or someone navigating your own journey, your mental health matters. Together, we can create a world where mental wellness is valued and nurtured. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #MentalWellness

Thinking about advancing in a Peer Supervisor role? A Peer Specialist Supervisor (PSS) is a professional who provides ongoing guidance, support, and oversight to certified peer specialists, ensuring their effective delivery of recovery-oriented services, skill development, and adherence to organizational policies. The role of a PSS is important and ongoing since supervision is consistently required for any peer specialist after they obtain certification. Supervision is likewise required in any organization that implements peer specialists. The next PSS training will be held February 13th and 14th 2024 from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
