Protocable is proud to announce USMC-centric AN/PRC-163 cabling for use with their most commonly fielded PTT and MCH equipment. Radio OEMs can't provide a radio and ecosystem perfectly aligning with every customer's existing equipment or preferences. There are too many options, and let's face it, they are good at making radios, not cables. For the AN/PRC-163, this commonly presents challenges related to the audio and EUD (End User Device—i.e., Samsung phone) interfaces. Protocable is suited to providing custom cable solutions ranging from the company to the component level that, in the case of the AN/PRC-163, meet user needs from a human factors (lengths, flexibility, over-molding design) and hardware compatibility perspective. Pictured here is our 163 nemesis cable with dual PTT leads for use with the Invictus PTT and a Nett Warrior receptacle that mates with cabling provided with most MCHs. Using the standard L3H cable offering would force the USMC to accept a less desirable form factor. In addition, the USMC would have to purchase another audio cable, new EUD cabling, or new phone cases and EUD cabling. Units routinely report that it would also take between 365 and 400 days to receive. Instead, the USMC was able to achieve cost savings along with an improved form factor (forgoing excess and large NATO 6-pin connectors, greater flexibility, and adopting an end-user-driven design) in roughly 1/3rd the timeline they otherwise could achieve—even though it was an entirely new offering for Protocable.

  • Do you know where your cabling is from? US Military radio cabling should not be manufactured in China or Taiwan. In the event of conflict escalations it is wise to adopt and maintain a supply chain that is less susceptible to negative impact. Step up your radio cabling with Protocable, bringing superior design and quality in addition to a predominantly localized North American supply chain. Ensure your organization can continue supporting US warfighter efforts regardless of what the future may hold with regards to conflict in the Pacific.

  • Very appreciative of this shoutout from James Lionel Buck Jr , who has been an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. This platform deserves a lot more attention than it gets, and not just for its CUAS capability. Anyone who has operated an RWS in combat will quickly identify this as game changing. There is a long list of technical merits belonging to each of the partners, and Lonnie’s integration contributions on this project put another notch in Northrop’s belt. Well done James Lionel Buck Jr , Northrop Grumman, Craig Burmann, and EOS Defense Systems USA, Inc.

Collaborative all in one solution, with customizable vehicular interface that will allow for the mitigation of air, land and sea threats. Credit to the great minds at EOS Defense Systems USA, Inc. & Electro Optic Systems for providing the EOS R-400HD Remote Weapon Station and latest Electronic Fire Control System - Thermal, Echodyne for providing the Echoguard MESA Radar, Silvus Technologies, for providing their Software Defined Radios, Pratt Miller and MSI-Defence Systems US LLC for providing customizable vehicular integration kits for both manned and autonomous platforms, Trimble Geospatial for providing GPS/INS navigation, NVIDIA for providing GPU processing power, Protocable for providing customized interfacing cables Nobles Worldwide Inc, for ammunition storage & feed management and of course Northrop Grumman for providing the XM-914 Light Weight 30mm Chaingun, XM1211 proximity fused ammunition and their system integrators. The team has been collaborating since 2019 and every year that has passed, has refined a solution that is repeatable, under the evaluation of many CUAS experts, around the world. If I were looking to protect my fire team and was strapped for cash, I’d spend my money on a few Batteries of these. There is power in numbers. Semper Fidelis and stay frosty…

    Leader at Anduril Industries

Anduril’s launched effects programs are stepping up the ground game. Altius made its name by doing the hard part first by launching from aircraft. Now we’re expanding our support to the ground maneuver and intelligence forces demonstrating the versatility of Altius in multi-domain operations. To do this effectively you need more payload, range, endurance and open modularity. Keep watching!

Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor heroes like Colonel James “Nick” Rowe, a U.S. Army officer and one of only 34 American prisoners of war to escape captivity during the Vietnam War. Captured by the Viet Cong in 1963, Rowe endured 62 months in harsh conditions, confined in a small "tiger cage" in the infamous U Minh Forest. Despite three failed escape attempts and facing a death sentence, Rowe managed a daring escape when American helicopters appeared during his march to execution. After his rescue, Rowe dedicated his life to developing the U.S. military's Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training program, shaping the future of high-risk personnel survival. Today, we remember Rowe’s resilience and sacrifice, along with all Prisoners of War and those who are still Missing In Action. Visit the U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations Museum to see a powerful recreation of the “tiger cage” that once confined him, and reflect on the courage of those who endured the unimaginable. #POWMIA #HonorAndRemember #USArmy #specialforces

  • We have really been enjoying the flexibility provided in this breakaway / optional screw lock connector from ODU. The standard breakaway option is compatible with the appropriate receptacle, and users can save money by only buying the plug with screw lock as required.
