This morning I attended the Community Associations Institute-New Jersey Chapter for Make-A-Wish New Jersey gathering. The CAI-NJ F.A.S.T. initiatives have helped raise over $100,000 since 2015. Today was very special and emotional because we were able to personally witness a young boy have his wish granted. This is one CAI-NJ event that is close and dear to my heart. My nephew Luke was four years-old when he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. There is no cure. Luke lived his life to the fullest, always had a smile on his face and never let his disease define him. The Make-A-Wish NJ chapter granted Luke's wish which was a Disney Cruise with his family. The experience was amazing and nothing was spared. Luke and his family created wonderful memories on that trip! Unfortunately three years ago, Luke at the age of 13, had an unexpected accident and he succumbed to complications from his disease. My family and I will be forever grateful to Make-A-Wish foundation, the volunteers and all sponsors for making Luke's wish a reality. This organization is truly remarkable and is an incredible gift to children between the ages of 2-18 who have chronic or terminal diseases. To see their faces light up and for them and their families to have a "normal" few moments, a few days are priceless. Come along as PS&S’ Keith McCann completes a Capital Reserve Study examination of the Linwood Apartment Cooperative.
