  • 3 questions to break down your Strategic Planning  Process that can save your organization $100K Q1. Where are we? Assess your mission, market position, and key success factors. This is where you identify your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats—your SWOT analysis isn’t just an exercise; it’s your compass. Q2. Where do we want to go? Pin down your ideal outcomes, key result areas, and clear objectives. Set targets that are Specific, Measurable, Aggressive, Realistic, and Time-Based (SMART). Q3. How will we get there? Strategies are only as good as the action plans that support them. Who will do what, when, and how? This step turns intentions into impactful actions. Your strategic planning process needs to be dynamic and inclusive. A wise move is to acquire the process from employee insights, market trends, and your organizational values. Companies pay $20K to $115K for strategic planning on average, however, the crux of strategic planning is about defining your mission, understanding the market, and aligning every action with your core values. • Are you constantly putting in 45+ hours week-in-week-out without any sense of direction? Here are 5 game-changing tips to bring clarity and control back to your procurement process: Tip #1- Stick to Core Values: It's impossible to make everyone happy. Focus on what's best for the business in the long run. Some stakeholders will appreciate your efforts, while others may not. Ask yourself, "Is this action beneficial for the company's future?" If the answer is yes, rest easy knowing you're making the right choice. Tip #2- Use the 80/20 Rule: Did you know that 80% of results come from 20% of your efforts? Identify that critical 20% and invest more time and resources into it. Eliminate tasks that don’t contribute significantly to your goals. Tip #3- Set Clear Priorities: Not all tasks are equally important. Consider whether that lengthy Procurement Policy will actually be read or if a one-hour meeting is truly necessary. Make faster decisions to free up your time for more impactful work. Tip #4- Simplify Your Processes: While RFIs and RFPs are essential, don’t let them dominate your workflow. Understand their core principles and apply them pragmatically. This approach will be appreciated by your colleagues and stakeholders. Tip #5- Always Prioritize Self-Care: Burnout doesn’t help anyone. Ensure you’re taking breaks, getting enough sleep, and engaging in hobbies. Quality work hours matter more than quantity, and taking care of yourself will boost your productivity and well-being. What are the next steps?
