Excited to share the incredible momentum at QED Technologies under our president’s leadership—25 new hires, enhanced benefits, deeper community engagement, and a renewed focus on innovation and precision optics. Thrilled to be part of a team shaping the future from Rochester, NY!
Excited to be leading QED Technologies International LLC for the past 9 months. Our journey to build something remarkable continues to gain momentum. We have hired ~25 people since I started in April, and we plan to add 25 more in 2025 for key roles spanning technicians, engineering, purchasing, planning, marketing, and HR. We want great people from all walks of life- people who love to learn, are passionate, and love being part of something meaningful, challenging, and exciting! We've introduced new wellness benefits, volunteer days off, increased community involvement and charitable contributions, we are dedicated to nurturing our team's well-being and growth. I am personally spending as much time as possible with the amazing folks in the local optics community, and broader business community in Rochester to make sure we are building a business that benefits our region and our industry. Last week, we welcomed an amazing engineer and leader, Johnathan Davis, back to QED in a new R&D Manager role. His decision to rejoin us underscores the positive trajectory of our company and the strength of our foundation of talented engineers and leaders. As I envision the future for QED and think about how I communicate to our team and incoming hires, I think about our priorities: - Innovating ways to make and measure precision optics. QED brought MRF (a critical Rochester NY, USA manufactured technology) to market almost 30 years ago. MRF enables critical and challenging applications in semiconductor, astronomy, SATCOM, directed energy, fusion and more. I feel we have a responsibility to continue to create and drive technologies forward that will enable the future of our optics-enabled world - Delivering top-notch service and support to our customers. We have a responsibility to ensure that the investments our customers make in our technology drive a strong ROI (reduced cost/increased efficiency, enabling hire levels of precision, etc) through advanced applications training and industry leading machine uptime - Developing a unique strategy and business model for enhanced connectivity with customers and industry trends, fostering agility and responsiveness to market demands while focusing on substantial growth. Above all, my team is paramount. My greatest priority is enhancing the lives of our staff and their families through competitive compensation and benefits, community (local and beyond) engagement, and industry support to uphold the future of precision optics. I want our team to be proud to wear a QED Technologies logo in the communities we serve. I hope that we feel something meaningful when we tell others about the work we are doing and how QED is working to change the world from our humble roots here in Rochester, NY, USA!
