After captivating Key Notes by Cornelia Denz, Cui Shan and Martin Koval, Brett Hyland explained the interoperable conformity data exchange in a digital #QualityInfrastructure (update from #UNECE), whereas #CiroAlbertoSánchez elaborated on advancing #DigitalCalibrationCertificates and the INM’s Role in Modernizing Metrological Services in #LatinAmerica. After that, ten more lectures in 2 parallel sessions gave fascinating insights into various aspects of the topic. Several hundred listeners from 86 countries followed this first day of the Conference. 👉 🚨 Important #meeting of members of the Steering Committee, the Advisory Board and the Coordination Team of QI-Digital! This meeting was dedicated to the discussion of a new #communication #strategy for the initiative. In the current #transitoryphase of the initiative, the goal is to strengthen its #positioning in the public eye. It is crystal clear that the #digitalisation of #QualityInfrastructure will create 💶 #billions in potential #savings for the #economy and can catapult international #trade to a new level. What's more, it can drastically #reduce the time and effort required to implement #bureaucratic requirements. The #EU's important #regulatory initiatives can thus be handled smartly so that the #bureaucratic burden for companies will not increase, but actually #decrease. To give the initiative new impetus in its external #communication, we engaged an experienced journalist. The fantastic moderator of our QI-Digital #Forum2024, #RobertSkuppin, was our guest during a long session, asking the right questions, giving us food for thought, and outlining approaches for a new QI-Digital #narrative together with us. QI-Digital: Use case #hydrogen - smart safety for a clean future 🔬 Safe use of hydrogen: Our experiment at TTS (Testsite technical safety) Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung   🔑 Hydrogen is a key to a clean #energy future - emission-free and versatile. 🍃 But it comes with challenges: it is highly flammable, colorless and odorless, which makes leaks difficult to detect. That's why we at QI-Digital conducted an innovative experiment to take hydrogen safety to the next level.   💡 What we tested (Keerthana Nattuveettil, Dr. Carlo Tiebe, Dr. Christian Liebner): In a room measuring 4.66 m × 2.21 m × 2.54 m, we monitored simulated hydrogen leaks with 12 sensors. What we learned: ➡️ The concentration increases linearly during a leak. ➡️ After the end of the leak, the concentration decreases exponentially.   🚨 Our smart solution: We have developed an intelligent hydrogen monitoring system that works with artificial intelligence (#AI). It analyses sensor data in real time, detects anomalous behavior and triggers visual and audible alarms. All data is stored centrally and can be accessed at any time - a genuine digital quality infrastructure, as developed in the QI-Digital project.   🎯 What this means for everyone: ✅ #Safer refuelling stations: Early detection prevents accidents ✅ More #efficient use of hydrogen: even the smallest leaks are detected, reducing waste. ✅ Worldwide #acceptance: Improved safety promotes the use of hydrogen as a clean energy source.   🌍 Future plans: This experiment is just the beginning.
