I had the pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Umair A. Shah, M.D., M.P.H. where we had an insightful discussion on the importance of experience management in healthcare. The partnership between Qualtrics and the Washington State Department of Health is a great one, serving the 8 million community members across the state. At Qualtrics, we help organizations find experiences that cause a lack of trust and recommend what actions they should take to enhance those experiences. The biggest takeaway from this discussion was that across both commercial and public health systems, patient trust is built on two things: positive experiences and emotional connection. When community members trust and feel connected to their healthcare system, this leads to better health outcomes. That’s what experience management is all about.
