Quantum Ethics Project

Quantum Ethics Project

Internet Publishing

A grassroots (soon to be NonProfit) promoting ethical development and implementation of quantum computing technologies.

About us

Quantum computing and quantum technology are positioned to transform society in unimaginable ways. Current research and development in quantum computing is focused on building the devices, and writing the algorithms to deliver on this vision - yet the benefits of such a post-quantum world are not likely to be felt by all. The Quantum Ethics Project is here to do something about this. Founded by a transgender Ph.D. student at the Institute for Quantum Computing, supported by the Union of Concerned Scientists (an NGO based in the US), and with support from a growing network of international partners - we are in the early stages of growth and we are looking for collaborators. The QEP is looking to make an impact in three key ways: 1. Develop the first course on Ethics of Quantum Computing for the Institute for Quantum Computing 2. Connect new graduate and undergraduate students to research mentors working on projects related to quantum ethics, education, and policy 3. Expand opportunities for students with marginalized backgrounds to get involved in meaningful research in quantum technology
