This year was all about building a new era for #womeninstem at QuantumBloom and I couldn’t be prouder of all Anne Hungate and I, with a lot of support from others, have accomplished as bootstrapping founders. Here are some of my personal 2024 highlights. → Launched our first Flagship cohort and experienced the joy of seeing our product come to life! → Expanded QuantumBloom's focus on semiconductor industry transformation and enjoyed revisiting my old GaN power semiconductor roots and reconnecting with old colleagues → Co-authored a Newsweek op-ed on why CHIPS Act isn't enough without culture change → Wrote my first Federal grant. We don’t get it, but we got lots of support and a great debrief so we will try again! → Won the North America “Most Impactful Initiative” award with WOMEN IN TECH ® Global and then was a global contender in Paris → Joined National Semiconductor Technology Center with Natcast.org as founding Core Member → Spoke on a The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine panel twice. Once on the Future STEM Workforce and once on Women Founders in STEM. → Joined the Workforce Advisory Board with Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) → Was the only woman panelist at an International Semiconductor Executive Summits - POWER event - and our panel was a big hit! But missed seeing Anne as master of ceremonies at the N.C. Women in Tech event because of it. → Did the closing keynote at the North Carolina Technology Association (NC TECH) annual Leadership Summit → Watched my middle-school daughter “slay” her science, math, and coding classes. “Yasss, queen.”🫅 Three posts that captured our mission's urgency: "The CHIPS Are Down: Why STEM Employers Must Bet on Women" While initiatives like the CHIPS Act are important, they aren't enough without addressing workplace cultures that drive STEM-educated women away. https://lnkd.in/ep4ZKNc4 "I am an unapologetic working mom" Being a mom makes me better at my job. Being a professional makes me a better mom. Our worlds aren't separate - they're completely intertwined. https://lnkd.in/eMF3B7Dt "Stop trying to fix the STEM education pipeline" Only 28% of STEM grads work in STEM jobs. If we don't fix employers, all that education investment is for naught. https://lnkd.in/e4iR8PhZ In 2025, we're doubling down on our mission and have some exciting announcements coming after the Holidays, so stay tuned. To every employer wanting to become a magnet for STEM talent: ❎The solution isn't just more pipeline programs. ✅It's creating environments where everyone can thrive. Let's build that future together. #WomenInSTEM #Semiconductors #Innovation #WorkforceDevelopment
