Hats off to bi-partisan legislation for Quantum Computing. Thank you to #Daines #Durbin #Schumer #Murkowski #Padilla #Young for proposing the extension of quantum leadership funding in the Senate. While $2.5 billion is a large expense initially, #bostonconsultinggroup and others predict that advancements in quantum technologies could save the U.S. up to $450 billion annually in the coming decade. https://lnkd.in/evCbr8qk

On this President's Day, QCi celebrates the contributions that our nation's leaders have made to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) ... all that have led to developments in the study of quantum physics that we hold dear! In the early 1800s, Thomas Jefferson, also a founding father of American science, studied the earth's gravitational pull regularly - creating a working clock based on his predictions. John Quincy Adams founded the National Observatory in 1830 that we still use today. Dwight D. Eisenhower Initiated the National Defense Education Act, empowering students to study STEM beginning in 1958. Jimmy Carter was a Nuclear Engineer on a naval submarine, supporting and visiting the Hubble Space Telescope from 1977-1981. In recent history, Donald Trump and Mike Pence re-initiated the National Space Council in 2017, creating more opportunities that exist today for research in lower and outer earth's orbit. Thank you to our Presidents for their countless contributions to our nation's science community!
