  • “As a queer person, not all of us have our family’s support…” We highly recommend taking a moment to watch Archie’s acceptance speech from the Melbourne Awards over the weekend. There was laughter, reflection and lots of complaints of running mascara 🥲 Thank you once again to the City of Melbourne for honouring the work we do at Queer Town providing education and consultation across Melbourne and beyond 🫶🏻 Thank you to Lord Mayor Nick Reece for presenting us with the award and shout out to the incredible interpreters on the night for your contributions 🤜🤛 📢 As a team we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunarong peoples of the Kulin, and we pay our respects to their elders and claim to the land known as Naarm. #MelbourneAwards #QueerTown #LGBTIQA #LGBTQIA #queer #DEI #diversityandinclusion

  • What a night! You’re now looking at a Melbourne Award-Winning Team 🤯🏆🌈 As a small business it’s one thing to see the impacts of our work on a local level through the daily interactions we have in workshops, consultation, events and content. But to be recognised by the very city we’ve served for 6+ years and have grown up in as queer individuals is beyond special. Thank you to the City of Melbourne for this honour and we pay our respects to the traditional custodians of Naarm, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin. We’ve worked with thousands of folks across this city and beyond, creating judgment-free spaces for collaborative learning on LGBTIQA+ inclusion and allyship - and we plan to work with thousands more. So thank you for supporting us and cheering us on! 💪🏳️🌈 We have some very exciting milestones ahead that we can’t wait to share with this growing community: from some very fresh new queer aesthetics to our highly requested Digital Short Course and a 2025 calendar of events. Interested? Then jump to queertown.com.au and drop your email for the updates! A big shoutout to our fellow finalists, any of whom could have been holding the trophy on the night: Trans Pride March, Transform Transwear and Ozanam House (Vincent Care). And thank you to JOY Media for sponsoring this award. Now back to work for us! (After some more nurofen 🥂🏳️) <3 Team QT xo

  • Today is Intersex Solidarity Day ✊ At Queer Town, the “I” in LGBTIQA+ is consistently the topic our workshop participants know the least about. So check out this mini guide below ⬇️ Get to know what it means to live with an intersex variation, and how we can all show our solidarity and be active allies for friends who fall under the “I” 👯♀️ References: Intersex Human Rights Australia + morgancarpenter.com - thank you!
