  • Should the Government Fund a Manhattan Project for Quantum Computing? QuEra's Chief Commercial Officer, Yuval Boger, weighs in with article for Built In, discussing the pros and cons of this proposed effort. In the past, federal investment has lead to transformative success such as the space program. However, over-reliance on government funding could discourage private sector funding, potentially slowing commercial innovation. What do you think? Should the government continue funding individual quantum efforts or begin its own initiative? Let us know below. https://lnkd.in/dqqqH_JJ

  • Standardized Quantum Benchmarking... Is it Achievable? 🧪 🗣️ Standardized quantum computing benchmarking is essential for comparing system performance across different devices and guiding progress toward quantum utility. While early benchmarks focused on error rates in quantum gates, modern approaches must also account for the growing role of quantum error correction (QEC) and classical control systems. ⭐ In this perspective, researchers from Sandia National Laboratories survey benchmarking methodologies, emphasizing the need for metrics that track and incentivize meaningful advancements toward utility-scale quantum computing. 👉 Read on arXiv: https://lnkd.in/gZHNDgUW

  • Teleportation Between Quantum Computers Successfully Demonstrated! 🪄 Previous examples of quantum teleportation have transferred quantum states between physically separated systems. However, researchers at the University of Oxford were able to demonstrate interactions between distant systems, allowing logical quantum gates to be performed. Contrary to sci-fi depictions, “teleportation” in quantum computing isn’t about moving physical objects. Instead, it’s about securely transferring quantum information between distant systems. This ability to transmit quantum states over long distances is a foundational step toward building a robust quantum network—often called the “quantum internet.” For industries that rely on large-scale data processing and security (finance, healthcare, logistics, etc.), quantum teleportation represents a future where data can be protected by the laws of quantum physics, and compute resources can be shared among networked quantum machines. The study itself and more information from leaders of Oxford University's Department of Physics regarding the study can be found in the full article by IoT World Today. 💭 Let us know what you think about this achievement and what it means for the future in the comments below. https://lnkd.in/gprukB6v
