There are many things that determine the success of any business and location is one of them. Stardust Power, Inc. has been making a lot of positive headlines over the past few years. If you’ve been following the news, you’ll remember that they recently announced the acquisition of a 66-acre site in Muskogee, Oklahoma, a site where they’ll build one of the largest U.S. Battery-Grade #Lithium Refineries, a facility that will not only accelerate onshoring efforts of critical minerals #manufacturing but also drive America’s #energy leadership and derisk critical #minerals supply chains. It’s reported that this facility will have a #production capacity of 50,000MT of #battery grade lithium per year and already, the company has signed a non-binding offtake agreement for 80% of its phase one production signaling the critical role they’re playing in the battery #market. Indonesia 🇮🇩 is playing a crucial role in the battery market. Amid concerns of Chinese dominance in the EV battery market, Indonesia is slowly emerging as a good alternative source of battery materials especially for the US market. Sources indicate that Indonesia is a major nickel producing nation, accounting for nearly 60% of global refined nickel supply in 2024, a figure that could easily rise to 70% by 2030 as projected by Benchmark Mineral Intelligence. This has put the country in a position where they can easily satisfy US demand if required. In addition to nickel, they are also building a substantial stock level of cobalt, in fact, last year in November 2024, the USA received its first delivery of Indonesian cobalt from Ningbo Lygend, a Chinese company with operations in Indonesia. Given the high tariffs on China and Canada, Indonesia has a huge chance to solidify its USA 🇺🇸 export market and continue playing a crucial role in strengthening global critical minerals supply chains. 🔋
