Finding the fixes and the funding to make America's railroads and railtowns safe, accessible, and able to thrive.
About us
We’re focused on finding the fixes and funding that make America's railroads and railtowns safe, accessible, and able to thrive. Thousands of communities across the country exist today largely because a railroad established tracks through the area over a hundred years ago. Being a railtown was a point of pride. Working with railtowns and supporters, we’re making it one again.

Congratulations, Irving, TX! Irving's central location between Dallas and Fort Worth and its proximity to many modes of transportation make it a vital gateway to the region. For example, the Hidden Ridge light rail station, located in the Las Colinas area of Irving, is part of a $1b mixed-use project aimed at boosting local transit-oriented development. The station makes rail transit more accessible for Irving's residents, visitors, and commuters. Irving's 2025 Full Membership to Railtowns.org is sponsored by RailPros! When we asked them why they chose to sponsor Irving, they responded, "At RailPros, we believe strongly in making both freight and transit rail safe and accessible to all. While our team is spread across North America and we work on projects from coast-to-coast, we’re headquartered in Irving. Giving back to the communities we live and work in has always been a key part of our corporate culture, and when we heard Irving had not been sponsored yet, it just made sense to step up and enable them to get access to resources surrounding America’s rail network." RailPros was founded in 2000, and is exclusively focused on providing services to freight, passenger, and transit rail carriers across North America and internationally. RailPros employs rail and transit engineers, construction managers, real estate and right of way service experts, inspectors, design engineers, and field support staff, enabling us to service the full spectrum of the industry’s management, engineering construction management, planning, and design needs. In addition, RailPros has a combined training and media production team, producing technical and safety training for rail carriers and rail-related industrial clients. The company has a unique understanding of the industry’s rail and transit needs, and their expertise helps their clients complete work safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to existing rail service. Welcome in, City of Irving! We can't wait to start working with you to support your safer, more accessible future. Thank you, RailPros, for stepping up to demonstrate your support of safety + accessibility in this special railtown! #railroad #railtown #RailSafety #RailInfrastructure #PassengerRail #accessibility #GivingBack #RailPros

Congratulations to Gary, IN! The US Steel industry was created in Gary and in its steel production heyday it was so beloved that there was even a song written about this very special railtown. Today, this city that is situated just east of Chicago on the banks of Lake Michigan hosts more rail traffic each day than many railtowns do in a year! Gary's leadership has made notable moves recently to revitalize its railroad infrastructure. First, there's the NICTD South Shore Line expansion. A $40 million rail transit bond was allocated to add a second track from Gary to Michigan City and upgrade existing infrastructure. This expansion aims to provide faster, more reliable service, enhancing connectivity and economic opportunities for the city and region. Second, the revitalization of Gary's metro center. The Adam Benjamin Metro Center, Gary's transit hub for the past 40 years, is central to the city's downtown revitalization plans. Mayor Eddie Melton has emphasized the strategic advantage of having multiple modes of transportation—rail and highway—within the city's core, positioning it for future development. Soon, there may even be passenger rail that pulls right into the metro center! Which brings us to Gary's sponsor, the Northern Indiana Passenger Rail Association (NIPRA). NIPRA exists to bringing a customer-focused passenger rail line through Fort Wayne, Gary, and the communities that make up the northern part of the Hoosier State. This line is intended to stretch from Chicago all the way to the east coast, leading to a stronger economy, new jobs, enhanced security, a cleaner environment, and an overall better quality of life for each of the connected cities. Thank you for sponsoring safety and accessibility in Gary, NIPRA! Because of your gift, the community will receive an entire year of rail safety + accessibility support and resources at no cost to the community. #railroad #railtowns #RailInfrastructure #PassengerRail #RailSafety #RailAccessibility

A safer and more accessible Warsaw - coming right up! Warsaw is right at the center of a proposed passenger route between Chicago, IL and Fort Wayne, IN. The city is currently served by Genesee & Wyoming Inc.'s short line Chicago Fort Wayne & Eastern Railroad Co. and a Class I RR. Just a few weeks ago seven of the city's at-grade rail crossings were upgraded, including repaving. These improvements not only help the RR operators with efficiency and safety but should lead to safer and smoother crossings for vehicles, bikes, and pedestrians in Warsaw. The city's 2025 Full Membership to Railtowns.org has been sponsored by NIPRA. NIPRA exists to bringing customer-focused passenger rail service back to Fort Wayne, Warsaw, and the communities that make up the northern part of the Hoosier State. Whether you travel or not, passenger rail means a stronger economy, new jobs, enhanced security, a cleaner environment, and an overall better quality of life for the connected cities. Thank you for sponsoring safety and accessibility in Warsaw, NIPRA! Because of your gift, the community will receive an entire year of direct support and resources at no cost to the community. #railroad #railtowns #RailInfrastructure #GradeCrossing
