Selim Adiguzel is proof that you get out of RangeMe exactly what you put into it. As a sales executive at audio equipment and solutions provider i-xtech, he landed his first retail deal with a free RangeMe subscription, then a second soon after upgrading to Premium and submitting products to Immediate Opportunities. What's his secret? Selim (who goes by "John") spends lots of time on the platform. When he began with a free subscription, he spent hours on the images and copy, making sure everything was just right, so that buyers searching for products like his would see his brand profile. And one did. The SVP of Flip reached out to him directly on the platform, and within a month i-xtech's products were selling well on the platform. John then upgraded to a RangeMe Premium subscription, and once again spent hours loading up more products and content, optimizing his profile and following the guidance of his Customer Success Manager Kevin Murano. Cost-conscious consumers are far more intentional when they shop the center store, focusing primarily on those essential ingredients for cooking at home and that provide the most value, according to NielsenIQ's Patrick Dougherty, who spoke at ECRM's Center Store Grocery Sessions last week in Chicago. In this video with ECRM's Joseph Tarnowski, recorded at the Session, Dougherty touched on a few key insights from his presentation: - Shoppers are more likely to cut back on things like confectionery items, prepared foods, meal kits and alcohol, and less likely to cut back on things like seed oils, bread, canned foods, and other meal ingredients. - Among the savings strategies shoppers are employing: Buying more private label items, products with a lower price-per-serving, and shifting more trips to discount stores. - They are also looking for larger pack sizes from brands. RangeMe Pro Subscriber Big Guns Coffee and Farm landed Walmart right out of the gate from it's very first in-person buyer meeting. Even more impressive: it was the brand's 10-year-old CEO did the pitch! The meeting, which came from an Immediate Opportunity submission, was held at ECRM's Coffee Tea and Cocoa Session in Vegas last year. That was followed by more wins from the RangeMe Live meetings it had at that Session (three in-person meetings are part of the RangeMe Pro subscription). And still more from ECRM's Diversity & Minority Owned Food & Beverage Session. In addition to Walmart, they have landed deals with Sprouts Farmers Market, The Exchange, and several other retailers and distributors. This week, Charli and her dad, T.Shane Johnson (who refers to himself as "Charli's assistant" on his business card) participated in ECRM's Winter Coffee, Tea & Cocoa Session, and were a big hit with buyers. More deals are sure to come. The company has a unique origin story: T.Shane is a Marine Corps Veteran, serial entrepreneur, motivational speaker, madman (according to his bio), author, philanthropist, and world record athlete (he held the record for doing 3,500 pushups in an hour). One day, Charli came up with the idea of creating a coffee brand that reflects their fast-living, risk-taking attitude. Once she decided on a name, the rest is history. They threw their life savings into the venture and have been coffee entrepreneurs ever since. A VERY unique aspect of the company is that it grows its beans IN THE U.S. on the first ever hydroponic coffee farm in N.C.! This means their coffee can be truly locally grown.
